Absolutely beautiful property filled with peace and history! Just lounging in the cabin and on the porch with the animals was worth it but the pool was just amazing and super clean. Hope to go back soon for another restful weekend.

This cabin was amazing. Very comfortable, and the property was beautiful. Playing with the goats and horses was so much fun. The pool was so great. I would recommend this to anyone and I will definitely be back.

Cabin is small and cozy, just what we wanted, so peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed watching the horses and goats every morning and night when they visited the cabin. Took long walks around the property taking in the wildlife and beautiful landscape. Hostess was so nice and friendly, she gave us a tour of her beautiful property. Great place for a few days of rest and relaxation.

A beautiful little cabin on a lovely property with horses and goats wandering freely. Tom and Beth were friendly and accommodating and let us play with the baby goats - so cute! Great anniversary weekend getaway for me and my wife.

11 out of 10!! Many thanks to the hosts for providing this amazing and clean place to get away with our dog! The relaxation was almost instant when arriving and the cabin had all we needed, including a comfy bed and soft towels. My husband enjoyed grilling outside both evenings and I’m definitely coming back for some more pool time. Best part? Flora and fauna galore!! Honored to learn more of the history of the land - thank you for sharing The Nest.

Clean, cozy, and calm. Extremely comfortable bed. Great a/c. Great water pressure. Wonderful cross breeze with the windows open. Very quiet.No tv or internet which was exactly what we needed.

My husband and I wanted a getaway from DFW, this place was perfect! No TV/Wifi which was exactly what we needed. There is still good cell service so you’re not completely off the grid. The cabin is so clean and has everything you need. It was oddly chilly during our stay (Texas…) but we were still able to enjoy nature walks and the super friendly goats and horses. We will be bringing our 2 daughters for our next visit.

The cabin was clean, cozy, and very well taken care of. Inside, you wouldn't guess it's over 100 years old! Check-in was super easy, just let the hosts know via text that you've arrived. Past that, it was peaceful, which is exactly what my partner and I were looking for. Between the animals on site (the horses are GORGEOUS, and the goats are so curious!) and the peacefulness of the seclusion, this is definitely going on my list of "Must Return". Thank you so much, Beth and Tom! You guys were wonderful hosts, and I hope to be back!

This is a great dark sky location for a quiet getaway. It is a very nice down to earth cabin. Just the amenities you need, you feel like you are in the countryside.

Great for a short remote getaway. Cozy comfortable cabin with full shaded porch, grills and firepit, fun local fauna (goats and horses), very responsive and accommodating host, and your own pool a short hike away.

This is my second stay at this cabin. If you want a remote place surrounded by nature, this is it. The small goats grazing nearby add to the serenity of the experience. There is a very unique swimming pool for those that come during warmer weather as well. I highly recommend staying here.

Private Cabin

We loved our stay! The cabin was so private in the middle of a beautiful pasture with goats and horses! It was convenient to Colorado Bend State Park where we spent the day hiking! A beautiful back porch to sit and watch the wildlife!

Charming cabin on historic land

Everything about the stay was lovely - the location, the property, the cabin, the backyard and especially the hosts. Beth is a wonderful person and we really enjoyed the tour she gave of the property - highly recommend asking for a tour !
