"The view out the front window of the hotel is beautiful. The food was ok.. not amazing. I ordered the risotto and it was terrible. We ended up walking to a nearby restaurant for drinks and their restaurant was booked and had more options. Jay the manager was super friendly and the room was comfortable and the bathrooms newly renovated and clean."

"Wonderful place to stay. We had 2 rooms adjoining, with a gorgeous view of the water. Hosts were so helpful and friendly, both in answering questions before we even got there, as well as being on hand while we were staying. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the small personal touches (breakfast snacks, water in the fridge, chocolates on the pillows) were wonderful. They were also helpful with booking breakfast for us at the pub just down the street. Highly recommend; would happily stay there...

"I was disappointed with my stay at the Great Western Hotel. I paid extra for a seaside-view room, but the view was largely obstructed by construction equipment and materials, which was not what I expected when booking. The hotel itself feels quite old and in need of refurbishment. The front entrance and revolving door are noticeably dated and could benefit from an upgrade. Throughout the property, the floors were very squeaky—including in the hallways, bar area, and even inside the guest...

"The stumbling block for this hotel is they have no parking, but there is long term public parking for $7.50 within a 3 minute walk. The hotel is what you would expect for a 4 star hotel, clean room, comfortable bed, good amenities, professional helpful staff and an excellent breakfast."

"An absolute gem of a property - from rooms, bar, dining room and staff. Wonderful breakfasts prepared each morning. Do yourself a favour and book yourself a dinner there as well. Chef is very talented! The views of boats in the bay and the shoreline of Oban are spectacular from this property. Highly recommend."

"This was my favorite hostel I’ve stayed in so far! As a solo female traveler I felt the town and the hostel environment was incredibly safe. The facilities as a whole were very well maintained and clean! I liked how the dorm rooms had a sink and mirror separate from a sink in mirror in the toilet room as well as the shower being separate. "Well room 5 what a view and a room to go with it staff class bar needs more variety lol but not a problem parking was ok £7-50 for 24 hours all good about the same everywhere room was class and well appointed"

"The bed and floor were clean and we were only using it to sleep to be fair but the join under the sink kept soaking the floor and the kettle looked mouldy inside so we never got a cuppa. Also you can't share the room key link so my vaping partner had to keep borrowing my phone to go outside. Still was never supposed to be a room to hang out in properly I guess."
