Castell Carndochan The remains of a 13th century castle 2 miles west of Llanuwchllyn. It is said it was built on an earlier Roman site. http://www.castlewales.com/carndoc.html A great viewpoint - the Hiraethog mountains in the far distance ahead, Bala Lake centre, with the Berwyn Mountains behind.

Clean, spacious room. Friendly check in. The continuous “drone” of something, maybe a boiler, throughout the night, making the use of ear plugs necessary, for a light sleeper, took the edge of our stay - room 1. There was no problem with the road outside or the customers from the pub.
