Warm ancestral home in Leclercville, by the canal and just a short walk from the wharf. This is a place to slow down: cook quietly, walk toward the river, enjoy the covered spa pavilion and take in the calm of the village. A clean, intimate and well-equipped retreat, ideal for a couple’s stay or a peaceful getaway with close friends.
The space
Le Havre du Canal is a small ancestral home built in 1875 and carefully renovated in 2022, located by the canal in Leclercville. With its original wood paneling, small village-home proportions and soft atmosphere, it is an intimate, clean and welcoming retreat, ideal for two people who want to slow down, cook, enjoy the spa, sit by the fire and savour the calm of the waterfront.
On the main floor, the living room and dining area create a simple and comfortable space to relax after a walk to the wharf or an evening outside. The Roku smart TV lets you use your own streaming subscriptions.
The kitchen is well equipped for preparing real meals during your stay: cooking slowly, having coffee, enjoying a drink and spending long moments around the table. This is a home best enjoyed in a quiet, unhurried way.
Upstairs, the main bedroom has a queen bed, a workspace and a TV that can also be used as a computer monitor. The second bedroom has two single beds. The home can accommodate up to 4 guests, but it is especially comfortable for a couple or a very close small group.
The full bathroom is located on the main floor. Like many older homes, some floors have noticeable slopes, especially in the bathroom. This is part of the home’s character, but it does require a little attention.
Outside, the covered pavilion is one of the highlights of the stay. Its large openings have magnetic screens in summer and clear vinyl panels in winter, allowing you to enjoy the space longer depending on the season. Inside, you’ll find the spa, a table for meals or drinks, a hanging hammock chair and a close connection to the canal. The property also offers a fire pit near the water, perfect for extending quiet evenings, listening to aquatic birds and spotting ships in the distance on the St. Lawrence River. The wharf, the river and the heart of the village are all within walking distance.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house, the pavilion where the spa is located, the yard, the outdoor fire pit and the driveway.
The basement, attic, upstairs maintenance closet and upper level of the pavilion are not accessible to guests.
Other things to note
Le Havre du Canal is a small ancestral village home. It is clean, comfortable and full of charm, but it retains the characteristics of an older house: floors that may creak, compact rooms, steeper stairs and a warm atmosphere rather than a new, standardized design.
The home is intended for personal or tourist stays focused on rest, in a spirit of respect for the property. It is not suitable for construction stays, work crews or use as an operational base. We prioritize guests who want to enjoy the calm, the spa, the pavilion and the area in a peaceful setting.
The home is located in a quiet residential area, with neighbours nearby. It is best suited for couples and small, quiet groups who want to enjoy the canal, the spa, the outdoor fire pit and peaceful moments. It is not intended for parties, noisy gatherings or stays focused on evening entertainment.
The home can accommodate up to 4 guests, but it is especially comfortable for 2. The base rate is for 2 guests. Any additional person present on the property, even for one night, must be included in the reservation. Additional guest fees apply beyond 2 guests.
The spa is located in the covered pavilion, sheltered from the weather. It is a small 120V spa, ideal for quiet soaking sessions, especially for 2 people. It heats more slowly than a standard spa and must be properly covered after each use to maintain its temperature, especially in winter.
The TV works with Roku and streaming apps. There is no traditional cable service. You can use your own subscriptions such as Netflix, Prime, Disney+, ICI Tou.tv, TVA+ or Noovo. Access to sports channels or live TV may require your own subscriptions.
Outdoor amenities are seasonal. The pavilion, outdoor furniture, BBQ and fire pit are installed or accessible depending on the time of year, weather and winter conditions. In winter, the fire pit area is not cleared of snow.
On-site parking is limited to 2 passenger vehicles for the entire group. The property is not suitable for oversized, commercial or work-related vehicles.
Check-in and check-out times are fixed and shared before the stay. Access to the property is possible only during the scheduled period; early access is not offered.
