Good Hope Cottage- Amish Country / fire pit

Enjoy the country feel and park like setting of the cottage and the convenience of being close to town, the park and local Amish shopping.

The cottage is fully furnished with two bedrooms , one bath, fully furnished kitchen and washer/Dryer .

You will enter the cottage into the living space with open ceilings and all wood walls , decorated with scenery you will  only find in Lawrence county.
The living area is furnished with brand new furniture ,a gas fireplace (seasonal) , and 55 inch Roku smart tv. The open floor plan leads to the kitchen that is fully furnished with new furnishings and complete with a local , custom build Amish farmhouse table . To the left as you enter the cottage is the master bedroom with a custom built king bed ,complete  with a brand new sealy mattress and 32 inch Roku smart Tv .  The bathroom and washer / dryer are also conveniently located on the main level. The second floor leads to the loft and overlooks the living room and kitchen. The loft holds a full size bed ,new sealy mattress and will require climbing steps.

Enjoy drinking your morning coffee on the front or back porch, sitting in the Amish built furniture.

To the left of the cottage you will find the fire pit, hammocks , outdoor charcoal grill, and small play set for young children .

This place feels like home, it’s cozy, comfortable ,and tranquil. We look forward to being your super host!

Our primary Residence is located in front of the cottage. You may see one of our Fur Babies around the property.They are very Sweet and friendly Aussies.

Beautiful Country Setting

Wonderful wrap around porch, tidy and charming interior with lots of wood and comfortable beds. Fully stocked kitchen and gorgeous big screen TV Wi-Fi. Hosts were accommodating and the property was as described. Recommend.

Beware, crooked host

We stayed 3 nights Dec, 2024. I do not recommend staying here. First of all, we were initially given a non-working entry code. The gas fire place did not work. We contacted the host, Mr. Ricketts, and he just said to read the instructions taped to the fireplace (this had already been done) he sounded like he didn't want to be bothered, so we did not contact him again until departing. Before leaving, as a courtesy for other potential guests, we did let Mr. Ricketts know of other issues we experienced during our stay. When we arrived, the trash can was overfilled with trash spilling from the top from previous guests. The mircowave was not working, apparently it was on an overloaded electrical circuit that tripped the breaker. The generic single serve coffee maker wasn't working. When I tried using it, the descale indicator light kept blinking. However, after checking out, Mr. Ricketts charged 65 to our damage deposit to replace his likely 10 yr old coffee maker. If you decide to stay here, make note the broken and un-maintained items, such as the broken tiles on the porch table, the screen coming out of the screen door frame, and more. The host's dog often visits and wants attention. However, what is a bit concerning, is the electronic device attached to her collar that looks like a gopro type camera. If you appreciate your privacy, you may want to stay elzewhereelsewhere

Good Hope Cottage

This was our 3rd time staying at the cottage and we continue to love our stays there. It’s so cozy, it is always decorated cute for the seasons, it’s clean and their dog is a highlight for my daughter and for us as well when she’s there to greet us every morning. The owners on site are very nice and accommodating. We will be back again hopefully soon! Thank you!!

Good Hope Cottage

A lovely cottage with plenty of amenities. We were greeted by the owner's dog every time we came and went. The furnishings were comfortable. The porch swings and chairs were nice for enjoying the quiet surroundings. We didn't use the barbeque or the firepit, but likely would have if we had stayed longer. The cottage is not far from town, but far enough to be away from traffic noise.

We came to Lawrenceburg to see family and to work on ancestory. Your place was the perfect location. Easy to have family visit. Place very clean & decorated very cute. Host very accommodating when our plans changed and we needed an extra night. Will definitely stay on our next trip

We have stayed here twice now and love it. It’s a very cute place with all the necessary amenities needed. It’s very quiet and peaceful. The owners are very nice and their dog is so sweet, we love being greeted by her in the mornings. Can’t wait to stay again!

Amazing

The cottage was clean and absolutely beautiful. They had all the essentials we needed to stay there for a week without having to eat out all the time or bring our own pots, pans silverware. Their dogs are extremely friendly and would meet us outside very time we left or came back.

Wonderful amenities and set up. Charming and peaceful. Loved the fresh blueberries delivered to us. We only stayed for one night to visit the Amish community. Would highly recommend.

Cozy cottage

This was our second time staying at this adorable little cottage. It’s a beautiful location and the cottage is very clean and beautifully done. The owners who live on site are very nice and their dog is the perfect greeter. Our daughter woke up each morning and wanted to go outside to say hi to the doggie while I enjoyed my coffee on the wrap around porch with rocking chairs and swings. We will be back to stay again next time we come visit family. Thank you for providing a cozy place to stay for our family that feels just like home.

Exactly what we needed

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was perfect for my husband and I to have a weekend getaway in the country. It was comfortable and well stocked and very clean. I loved sitting on the porch and enjoying the quiet and the fall colors of the trees on the property. Watched the variety of birds close to the house and even heard two owls hooting back and forth in the woods nearby. The lovely family pup that came to greet us and sit nearby when we were outside was a great perk. We weren’t there to be tourists but to rest and relax. We did eat out at Strykers Steakhouse the first night and it was delicious. The second night, my husband ran to Hinie’s BBQ and picked up dinner. Highly recommend the smoked chicken quesadilla. After we checked out Sunday morning, we drove around and explored David Crockett State Park. Beautiful! Coty was a perfect host. He was quick to respond to my questions before we checked in and checked in with us while we there. We will be back!

Fantastic stay

This cottage was very clean and well stocked. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is where you need to stay. And the owners fur baby was such a joy to see when you got there and as you would go out. We recommend it for sure.

Beautiful, quiet and pristine.

The pictures on VRBO do not adequately capture the indoor and outdoor beauty and spaces this rental offers. The inside was exceptionally clean and uncluttered as it provided all the comforts of our own home. Outside there are plenty of spaces we enjoyed while walking & taking in the country air listening to the occasional sound of a mooing cow. On the extensive covered porch, we enjoyed rockers, two porch swings, a table and chairs that we used for most of our meals so we wouldn't miss a moment of the country air. We also used Adirondack chairs that surround the fire pit and checked out the two hammocks. The homes location offered us a delightful and unique mix of the serenity of a country setting and a very short easy drive into a developing town. We enjoyed yummy restaurants and met very friendly local towns people. We checked out the Old Jail Museum and saw a plethora of antiques from the area. The volunteers there were welcoming and full of knowledge and love for their community. The restaurants we visited were: Square 40, Pat's cafe, Rick's BBQ and Strikers Steakhouse. Everything was delicious, servers and owners were attentive and friendly. Coty and his family were quickly available for any questions or concerns while offering us complete privacy on their large property. Their pooches were adorable loves, My husband wouldn't let me pack them up with the rest of our gear! We very highly recommend this VRBO, I wish I could give it 10 stars!
