"Very disappointing. This hotel was rated very good an 8.4 but it was far from it. It is very dated and it was dirty and smelled musty. The lamp shades were stained and the lamps were rusty and old. There was mould and dirt all around the window and baseboards. I do NOT recommend this hotel."

"I arrived after dark and the hotel and the village were like a magical New England winter scene with sparkling lights everywhere. The proximity of the hotel to a typical New England church and numerous white painted wooden framed structures was a scene from our historical heritage. The hotel was reopened less than a year ago after extensive renovations. The outcome is a GEM. Decorations deserve an A+."

Our hosts were very kind, and put generous effort into providing delicious breakfasts, giving suggestions about local attractions, and allowing us as much or as little cat time as we wanted. "What a warm and welcoming place to stay. Beds and pillows were super comfortable, very clean room. Common areas were cozy and clean. You will never find a better breakfast than the 3 course meal we had. Local yogurt, homemade lemon curd, with homemade granola and berries. Then wonderfully cooked frittata with Crème fraîche, local sourdough toast, and a bed of nice greens and radishes. Then the most amazing citrus olive oil cake. "The room was very nice and quaint. We loved the location. It was so quick and easy to walk to downtown Keene. We had to rent a cot to make it accommodate 3 people. I guess we had missed the fine print in the Expedia listing that said it would work for 3 if a cot was added. The building felt secure and was well taken care of.
