Black Bear Lodge @ MiddleCreek

This beautiful House sits just 1 mile outside of Hopeland in the small neighborhood of Clay. It features a Big front yard, as well as a deck with Big Back Yard, 3 bedrooms, 2 Full Bathrooms, a Semi Stocked Kitchen, (Kitchen, Dining, and Living Room) is open area, with a office/den area to the side of Dining area. Bedroom # 1 has attached bathroom with a Whirlpool, and shower. Bath # 2 has Tub with shower, and is also where the washer & dryer is located. . Entire house and grounds is accessible to our guests except for the garage, and basement. An accessible and open floor plan is great for larger groups as well as small!

- Quiet Hours 11pm to 7am

- Eat food only in kitchen area

- No shoes in the house

- No Parties or Events without Prior Approval

- No illegal or Immoral Activities

- Children are welcome but "MUST" be supervised at all times. This not a child proof home. Supervision REQUIRED at ALL TIMES, You will be responsible for all damage and the safety of your children.

- Please Leave House as Found: Dishes Washed and all items put back in their place. Just leave the beds without making them.

- No additional overnight guests without prior approval.

- No pets on the property without prior approval and no pets in the house.
- If Smoking, Must be outside, and butts placed in receptacle on deck.

ACCESS IS BY KEYPAD ON FRONT DOOR. Approximately 1 day before your stay, I will send you the access code, and instructions on how to access the house.

The house was very nice and clean. The host was communicative and replied quickly. There was smoke linens and towels. I feel that it should be more explicit that there are no televisions anywhere in this house. It wasn't a major issue, but it would have been nice in the evenings.

The property owners were so amazingly kind and helpful! We were able to drop off my friend’s insulin well before check-in which provided such a peace of mind while we enjoyed our day at the PA ren faire. Will absolutely be putting this on the books as an amazing getaway!

Due to location, this was not our first choice, but since our first choice was not available, this proved to be just fine. We only stayed one night and did not make use of most of the amenities offered, but we have no complaints on what we did use.

Mostly hits, some misses

Lots of positives: very clean, comfortable, very nice deck/yard/fore pit combo. Close to some parks for hiking. V quiet area. Bathroom whirlpool was nice as well as Keurig. Misses: very fast drivers on this rural road and front evergreen obstructed clear view to exit driveway; NO TV’s!!!, soft, bouncy master queen bed; no central air made the place hot during upper 80 degree days; no dressers ! Kind of a weird mix for a rental- older furniture, very thoughtful w many details, not so much an others. A few board games, bear decorations everywhere were cute. Pretty odd that “immoral activities” are listed as being against the house rules. Won’t elaborate on that but apparently there is an assumption that there is a universally understood and accepted definition of moral vs immoral. We’d score 8.5/10.

What a wonderful place

My wife and I took my mother out for ger vacation in Pennsylvania. We lo ed the house. The owners were aweaome and even had portable step available to make getting in and out easier for my mother and disabled wife. Highly recommended

Best Vrbo ever!!!

This place is absolutely beautiful. Very roomy and rustic. We stay up this way every year for a bowling tournament and will guarantee that we will be back her next year!

Great location and lots of room but….

I traveled with my mother in law & sister in law. We stayed at this location for 6 days. The location is perfect! Upon entering the home you are immediately hit with a musty mold smell. I am allergic to mold & have asthma, immediately the itching & hives began. We were able to leave the back slider door open at times to help let fresh air in & help air the place out. We had to shut it at night as it was too cold. There is ceiling patch work done in the living room & bedrooms where it looks as though there was water damage at some point. The house was clean, well stocked & roomy. We were provided plenty of clean towels. We each thought our beds were comfortable. The backyard was spacious & beautiful. There is no tv provided, but we kept busy during the day & at night we played games. It was nice not to be distracted by a tv. My sister in law & I utilized the tetherball out back & tried our hands at disc golf. We did enjoy our stay. I would not tell others not to stay here, but if you’re sensitive or allergic to mold just know there is a smell of it. The bathroom in the hallway does not have a holder for the shower head so that was an issue for my older mother in law when she had to shower. There were a lot of cats who visited the house. I believe we encountered 6 different cats. We felt safe in the house. We did have an incident on our last night where a truck pulled up to the house & turned their high beams on & sat there for a couple minutes before leaving.

Quilters ….going to the show!

We didn’t realize there was no tv in the house. It was no problem, but it would be nice to have seen some news in the morning. Super nice place to stay. Beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. Lots of coffee available and creamers and sugar! I’d stay there again!

Came to the area for a unexpected family event. This was ashort notice booking, Dale was very responsive to our questions and the listing was fully equipped for all our needs.
