"I booked 2 rooms we were allocated rooms 12/14 on 2nd floor which were OK but could do with a revamp.Room 14 had a iron but no ironing board room 12 had a ironing board but no iron so we ending up sharing. Extractor fan not working in bathroom number 12.Both rooms had a view facing the main road and the traffic was constant from 5am.Car alarm going off several times during the night did not help sleeping (I know it was not the hotels fault).Breakfast was OK tea was luke warm from dispenser....

Lovely spot, right by the river, walking distance ( fairly level)to Windermere Lake and boats etc. Eating places also within walking distance, plenty others short drive away( Anglers Arms, Masons Arms). "Staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was easy. The room was really clean and the decor was quirky and bright. It's a lively night spot (for a little town) so it wasn't the quietest place to sleep, but good value for money."

"Lovely room at the Royal Oak, perfect for a quick stay. Bed was comfy and shower was good, what more could you ask for! Pub was not open Sunday evening, so we didn't get to eat here, but heard that the food is very good. No breakfast in morning, but lots of options in Cartmel so wasn't an issue. Would recommend."
