Fall in the Outer Banks. Warm sand and water. Everything to do minus the crowds. Please note: 1. We do not rent to anyone who is less than 25 years old or to prom goers / school groups.
2. You can get a complete quote by inputting dates and viewing the quote details.
3. You can walk to the beach and to town, easily, from the house.

GREAT LOCATION. Quiet neighborhood that gives you the best of all worlds. It is a three-minute walk to the beach and a seven-minute walk to the heart of Duck. Leave the car parked and stroll anywhere including to restaurants, bakeries, ice cream shops, pizza places, the sweet shop, water sport rentals, bike rentals/paths, groceries, clothing shops, yoga, art stores, the book store, unique novelty and gift shops, the Duck boardwalk, the Sound, and THE OCEAN/BEACH. The park/playground and the kayak and paddle board ramp on the sound side is very close too!

Spend a day at the beach and enjoy ocean breezes from the deck at night. Watch beautiful sunrises over the ocean in the morning and stroll down to the sound front for dinner and take in a spectacular sunset.

ABOUT THE HOME: clean, updated beach home that sleeps 6 very comfortably. New in 2022: floors, TV, decking, and outdoor shower.

LAYOUT: Master Bedroom (upstairs); king-sized bed, ensuite bathroom, and sliding doors that open onto a sun deck.

Bedroom 2 (entry level, north facing): two comfy, full beds with a window to the quiet backyard.

Bedroom 3 (entry level, south facing): one comfy queen bed and a window for great daylight.

The second full bathroom is also on the entry level and is in the hallway outside these bedrooms.

NOTE: We do NOT supply bed or bath linens. Many OBX vacationers choose to rent these items from a beach rental company who delivers and picks-up the linens.

The living area has a full wall of sliding glass doors that exit onto the wrap-around deck. Lounge on the Adirondack chairs as you listen to the ocean waves. When you are ready for a meal, use the charcoal grill, or the completely updated kitchen to prepare something yummy. Eat in the sunny dining area or perhaps on the screened-in porch that sits off the elevated kitchen. And for the times when you don't feel like cooking, you can walk in minutes to any number of local restaurants or call for delivery.

Headed to the beach? Grab the beach chairs, drink cooler, and beach umbrella from the utility room and take a 3-minute stroll to the Christopher Drive private beach entry.

The house also has a large yard, basketball hoop, ring & hook game, a hammock, and plenty of space for kids (or adults) to play in a delightful neighborhood. And, when you are back indoors, you can download TV or a movie on one of two flat screen, smart TVs; listen to music from the docking station; connect to the WiFi; play cards or board games; read; and relax!

Our family hasn't been to the beach in 6 years so this trip was well overdue. We all were so excited to stay in a house with a short walk to the beach and also to shops/places to eat. The house even had beach chairs, wagons, toys, etc for us to use while here. Communicate was clear and prompt. We are already looking forward to booking again next year, but for a longer stay!

We LOVED the location of this house! Quiet street and very easy straight walk to beach access. We drove to the shops at the other end of the road because we didnt want to carry our wild toddler, but we couldve walked it if we wanted to! Well stocked - used the grill, puzzles, games, beach chairs, and umbrella! Great water pressure in the showers which is always a big deal to me! My only complaint was wishing the beds were a little more comfortable, but thats personal preference. We would definitely stay here again!!

We had a great stay with our 4 kids. They said it was perfect for our family. It’s super close to the beach and the boardwalk was nearby too! Great local restaurants and fun shops! The house was well stocked and the outdoor shower was perfect for easy cleaning after the beach! 🏖️ My kids also loved eating at the table with the screened in porch. We’re ready to visit this house again next year!

Everything about the Blue box was terrific - its location, amenities, and comfort. My family of four (including 2 teenagers) had plenty of room to spread out. We especially loved the screened in porch (you can hear the waves crashing!) and outside shower. A two minute walk to the beach, and less than 10 minute walk to shops and restaurants, we rarely took our car out. What a vacation! We're looking forward to coming back!

Love love love this house and Duck! We've stayed at this home multiple times over the years and it never disappoints. Owner is always so kind and accommodating, it is so close to the beach and Duck, always clean and plenty of chairs/tents/toys to use. Can't say enough, and we'll definitely be back yet again!

So lucky to have found the Blue Box for our three night stay in Duck. It was clean, the perfect size, and had everything we needed. We loved the short walk to the beach (and the chairs, umbrella, etc) and the short walk to restaurants, shops, and Duck Donuts especially! The owner was great and quick about answering questions. You will need to bring garbage bags and toilet paper, and dish soap, etc. We loved our stay and you will too—book it!

There's a reason we are repeat guests! We can always count on this vacation exceeding expectations and providing a great time for us. The host is a dream to work with! The house is always clean, the a/c works great, appliances work wonderfully, and the beds are comfy. Great location-about a 2 min walk to the sand. We'll be back in a few months!

This was our THIRD time staying in this house and hopefully there will be many more visits. Bernadette is the BEST host. We have had a couple of requests/accommodations over our stays and she totally made it happen when she didn't NEED to...she's just awesome like that! The cleanliness of the house was great. Location is perfect. Everything in the house worked just fine (tv, appliances, hot water, etc.) My family can't wait to put this house on our calendar for the 2024 season!

This is our third time staying at the Blue Box, and it was just as fantastic as the previous two times. Location can't be beat, cleanliness is top notch and amenities were spot on! This house has everything you need in order to have a wonderful time at the beach. And, the hosts are just superb! Our family expects to book it again and again! Thank you for such a wonderful time!

I’ve been vacationing on the OBX for almost 40 years and this house is the cleanest, most new-looking beach house yet. A couple of small improvements could be made - kitchen cupboards on the north wall are installed 6” too high - 24” above the counter top; should be hung at 18”. I’m short and could not reach the second shelves. Could be solved with a collapsible step stool. There’s no available closet in the queen bedroom. Could be solved if an armoire replaces the chest of drawers. Towel bars in lower bathroom are hung 6” above my head. Could be reinstalled at least 12” lower.

We decided to leave for our annual week long OBX vacation 2 days early, and I found this great home available for those two extra days. I lucked out. Our normal weekly stay is in Kill Devil Hills in an oceanfront home right on the beach. While we love the access we have to the beach, there was something really great about being in a neighborhood so close to downtown Duck. Everything was 1/2 mile to a mile away and Duck is super friendly to pedestrians with the boardwalk and all the sidewalks and crosswalks. The home itself is really nice. My wife and I enjoyed hanging out outside. Overall, a great stay. I looked to see if I could book it for next year for the whole week sometime in June and it appears to be booked up already. Oh well, I'll keep looking.

We had six great nights at the Blue Box in Duck! My husband and I came with another couple and their teen daughter and we all had a nice time. They graciously let us have the master which is spacious and airy with the sliding doors. The other bedrooms are far less so. The house was squeaky clean. Be prepared to bring your TP in the door with you if you are arriving after a long drive as we were! Lol. Seniors and folks with small kids should be advised there are a number of steep stairs, some without handrails. The communication with Bernadette was great and we would consider renting again if ever in the area. Nice short walk to the beach and somewhat longer walk to restaurants and nice shops!
