This convenient single-level home has a very comfortable Queen En Suite which makes for a private retreat. Just down the hallway you will find two bedrooms, one with a plush Queen bed, and the other a Twin over Double bunk room. There is a full shared bathroom in the hallway. Sit down in the living room with its adjoining kitchen, relax, and plan the day's adventures! The whole family can sit together at the dining table to share a great meal or play games. The amazing deck will allow for the group to hang out for hours taking in a beautiful Outer Banks sky.

Located on quiet East Lake Drive nestled between the highways, this house is in a prime location and is a stone's throw away from the new, locally owned (and loved) S'wellsa Brewing Beer Company, infamous Kill Devil Grill, a short bike ride from crazy fun Avalon Pier, and delicious Chilli Peppers Coastal Grill!

Fantastic spot! Definitely would stay here again if we come back to the area. Short walk to the beach, ice cream, a brewery, and several restaurants. Grocery store very close by. Loved the outdoor shower! House came with plenty of beach chairs and accessories. Outside trash was overflowing when we arrived but I contacted the rental company and someone came the next day to get it.

Great location. Less than 10 minute walk to the beach (while hauling all the supplies we brought). Great location for northern sightseeing. Multiple bars, shops and restaurants in walking distance. Even more options writing a 5 min drive. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent small house for a family

This house was absolutely perfect for our family. We were able to fit stuff for two infants (rented from a partner vendor), the kitchen was well stocked and perfect, and everything was just wonderful. Great communication from the property manager as well.

Exceeded our expectations in every way!

We were first-time visitors to the OBX and we are so glad we chose Salty Pause for our stay! Kees made our check-in and check-out a breeze. The home was clean, cozy, and just the right size for our family of 4. Plenty of towels, pillows and bedding were provided. Each bedroom had a TV, which was nice when our teens needed a little downtime and space. We spent much time on the deck and in the hammock underneath in the afternoons and evenings. The neighborhood was quiet, and we found it easy to relax out there. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make meals. We brought our own, but were surprised to find many beach supplies in the closet downstairs. The location is amazing! Many restaurants and shops within walking distance, or a short drive. Public beach access was right at the end of the street. This place truly exceeded our expectations in every way and will be at the top of our list when planning our next vacay!

Perfect location for a getaway!

Great place for our family to getaway and enjoy the beach. So many beach amenities provided, I wish I'd thought to ask before bringing all we did. Centrally located to many restaurants and shops. Some great places were walkable distance.

Our family enjoyed our time at Salty Pause. Home was a quiet, clean, convenient location to start and end our days while on vacation. Home is a short walk to the beach. Was nice having items to be able to cook meals as desired.

Beach House Review

Great location, close to the beach. Of note, it is also very close to the main street in OBX which I did not realize. Central location in Kill Devil Hills. The house could use additional supplies. One roll of toilet paper and one garbage bag for a 6 day stay is not acceptable. Also, the kitchen does not have a dishwasher and lacks even salt and pepper. A beach rental should have other amenities such as coolers, a wagon, umbrella, sand toys etc. But, the location is great. The home was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay but would have loved some extra amenities.

First vacation as a Party of 3

This place was a perfect little getaway for my husband, 9 month old and I for our first little vacation as a family. Super clean. Easy walk to beach, straight shot to public beach access. Unfortunately we probably won’t stay again because we usually bring our dogs and they don’t allow pets, otherwise we would definitely return. Only downside was no dishwasher which I didn’t realize until we got there. We never use the dishwasher on vacay, but with all the baby bottles I actually planned to this time (of course)! You won’t be disappointed staying here!

Amazing property and location!

We had such a great time at this rental property! The communication, cleanliness, location and space were all top notch! Unfortunately, we had bad weather for the weekend so we were unable to go to the close beach access but we made it up with going to local breweries, restaurants and shops. We definitely want to come back over the summer!
