Hale Manu Mele offers you the best of Maui: Quality, Comfort, Quiet Privacy, Convenient Location, And Affordability. The 720 sf House is a beautiful remodeled 2 br/1 bath with an outside shower. Nestled on a shared tropical private half-acre. Hawaii-born and raised Owner lives in the private Main House at the opposite end of the half-acre property. Your own Hawaii Concierge can also reserve & ticket all Maui activities. You'll find high beam ceilings with remote control ceiling fans in every room. A full kitchen with Granite countertops, oven, microwave oven, ice maker, and dishwasher. Open floor plan with Koa wood floors and custom tile bathroom. Two sliding glass doors lead to your private deck(Lanai). A gas BBQ grill, washer & dryer, Outside shower, and access to the pool and POOL deck 9 am to 8 pm daily with a water slide. THE HEATED POOL IS SHARED WITH OWNERS ONLY, NO OTHER RENTALS ARE ON THE PROPERTY. If we happen to be at the pool please join us. Most of the time we do leave once we know you are home. If you wish to rent a private house with a totally private pool then you will have to keep looking for another property that will cost you over 1000.00 a night here on Maui. Please know this is our home and we are sharing it with you. Located within 1 mile of Beaches, Restaurants, Grocery Stores, and World-Class Wailea Resort. The cottage has Wi-Fi.
SINCE CONVID 19 WE HEIGHTEN CLEANING IN OUR COTTAGE FROM HERE ON OUT. WE WILL CHANGE THE BEDSPREAD AFTER EVERY GUEST. EVERY THROW RUG WILL BE CLEANED AND DISINFECTED. ANTIVIRUS SPRAYS TO CLEAN ALL BATHROOM AND KITCHEN SURFACES ALONG WITH ALL DOORKNOBS AND REMOTES. SHEETS AND TOWELS WILL BE WASHED IN ANTIBACTERIAL SOAPS.
As of JUNE 15TH 2021, WE HAVE CONVERTED THE POOL TO A SALTWATER POOL SO NO MAJOR CHEMICALS. FYI,I MAKE THE CALENDAR AVAILABLE 18 MONTHS OUT. TRAVEL IS HARD WITH COVID SO I DON'T WANT TO BE TOO FAR IN ADVANCE


House Rules: We are in a working community so quiet time is before 8 am and after 10 pm, please. That's why we are the perfect property to relax and enjoy your vacation. We have a wonderful pool water feature and the pool is heated. Why heat a pool in Hawaii? The pools can drop 15 degrees during our winter months. So it's important to find that out when reserving a hotel or house in Dec, Jan, Feb, and March in Hawaii. The pool is open from 9 am to 8 pm but the pumps for the waterfall and slide turn off at 5 pm, you can still use the pool. Just can't have pumps going more than 8hrs a day for the slide. The pool is 36 feet long 3 1/2 feet to 7 1/2 feet deep. Once again I will mention the pool is shared with only us the owners. We have been asked by a few guests if they can hang out after 8 pm. The reason we have that in place is our community is like an amphitheater sounds travels far. Some guests were being very loud and our neighbors weren't too happy about the noise. With that said PLEASE don't have your children screaming while at the pool, again remember your booking in a working family community. So maybe a hotel would be a better fit if you're looking to party after 8 pm or have children that have to scream the whole day in a pool.

In Bedroom 2 there is a Berth Bed with a Twin Mattress which is perfect for a teen or child, not an adult. The mattress is a regular twin size. You need to be honest about how many guests are in your party, we live on the property so we will know. You can't show up with more people than you advise us is in the party. We will ask you to leave if not honest. We want no one sleeping on the sofa or air mattresses.

This was our first visit to Maui and it couldn't have been better. The house was perfect for us (married couple), had a little kitchen, small bath and two bedrooms. The house was very clean, everything was in working order and the host was lovely. The neighborhood is between Wailea and Kihei -- so minutes to snorkeling, restaurants, everything. Incredible pool (!) that was warm enough to use in early October by just walking right in.I would say this house would be good for a couple, a couple with children or two couples, since there's two bedrooms and only one bath. This is a shared property (a cottage that shares a space with the main house), so the owner may be in the vicinity. This was fine for us, but sometimes a person may want complete privacy on vacation. The owner is lovely and has the sweetest little pup that we encouraged to visit us. If we didn't ask them to visit, we would've never known they were there.Be aware, it's Maui and hot, so it does take a little time to cool off the house if a/c is off, so plan accordingly. We did, never had an issue. For example, when we got home, we'd turn on the a/c and the house would be ready for us after we returned from the pool.All in all, I can't say one negative comment about this property. In fact, I'd go back in a heartbeat. Any issue we had (WiFi wasn't working when we first arrived) was remedied by the owner within minutes. She was very attentive, even gave recommendations and loaned us snorkel fins. 5/5 stars!

Beautiful Maui Retreat

We had a wonderful stay in this cottage on Maui. The private pool was such a nice amenity to have, and we had a lot of fun sliding and swimming. The cottage is nicely appointed and had everything we needed, including some beach and snorkeling gear! I would definitely recommend a stay here!

Great Spot For Families!

We loved staying here! Great central location for exploring the island, beautiful pool and porch for relaxing, and Elaine was helpful with all of our questions. I‘d definitely recommend this property, especially for kids who love to swim like ours do. The pool slide was a hit.

Couples week-long stay

My husband and I stayed with some friends for a week. The house was perfect for us. Nice kitchen with the esstentials and a grill outside. The bedrooms were a good size and nice living space. The pool was such a nice bonus that we definitely enjoyed! 5 minutes to lots of shops and restaurants in Kihei, and a short drive to Paia. We had the pleasure of talking to Elaine one day at the pool. She is so kind and welcoming. We really enjoyed our time and would come back. Highly recommend!

Beautiful cottage

Exceptional! Our host Elaine was an amazing host and checked in on us regularly throughout our stay. She went out of her way to make our check in process easier, even in the dark. Very thoughtful. The property was spotless, including the grill, which is rare. Great attention to detail. Location was perfect and Elaine suggested some beaches in the area. We loved the pool and enjoyed lots of time swimming and sunning in the spacious area. The deck off the back of the cottage was also a great space and gave us lots of room to spread out. Overall, outstanding! We will be back!

Highly recommend!

My family of 4, two adults and two teens stayed in Elaine’s cottage for our dream vacation in Maui. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay, full kitchen, laundry and the most comfortable beds! I think this is the first vacation I wasn’t missing my own bed. The pool and deck area was also a big hit for the afternoons we weren't being tourists. Elaine was great to deal with and lovely to chat with. Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise with us.

Great stay!

Miss Elaine’s place was fantastic! We had everything we needed. The place was clean, not too far from the beach, and it was close to stores and restaurants. We rented a car and only had to fuel up 2 times during the 2 weeks we were there. The pool was amazing, our daughter (5 years old) had so much fun hanging out at the pool. It was nice on days when we did not want to do too much. Beach days were awesome because she had 2 coolers, 3 beach chairs, 2 boogie boards and plenty of towels available for us! Only thing we rented was an umbrella. She was very accommodating. We had requested for a late check out since our flight was late in the night, and let us stay late till we had to leave for the airport. I would definitely stay at her place again and would 10/10 recommend it to others! Mahalo!

As Advertised

Host was very nice and gracious. The unit is what is advertised on VRBO. Clean, comfortable, and charming. We stayed in the property for 1 week and did not have any issues with noise, cleanliness, etc. Ample amount of towels and personal items for use. Pool was exceptional with a water slide that is unique. It was also a heated pool which made it great for swimming in the winter time. Overall, great experience and would recommend to anyone else who is looking at this property.

Amazing everything

The property is absolutely incredible. Elaine provided all the information in advance and instructions were all very clear. The place itself is nicely setup. The kitchen had all the things needed for some quick meals and probably more if you wanted to do some additional cooking. For us at least, the proximity to amazing local food kept us largely out of the kitchen. The rooms were nicely setup, and the owners even had a pack'n'play for our toddler which was great. The pool was of course the star of the show and much fun was had by all swimming and sliding and enjoying our very own little waterfall! When not at the pool, the owners had some beach gear (chairs and even boogie boards). Some incredible beaches that were 5-10 min drive from the place left us with so many great choices. Would absolutely stay here again.

Relaxing Staycation

Love staying at this beautiful cottage and being so close to the beach and great restaurants and shopping. Truly the best way to experience this side of the island of Maui. Elaine is a wonderful host and very helpful. The pool is my favorite experience here can't wait to return.

Great comfy cottage in Kihei!

Overall - great stay in the rental, all the amenities listed, and other items provided are accurate. The pool area is nice, pool has recently been redone. We met the host a couple times, and they were very kind, friendly and communicative. I noticed in a few other reviews that others complained about there being "too many rules". I worried about this before arriving, my take: - Home is in a normal neighborhood; they need to get along with/respect neighbors. - There are rules posted in a few areas, and within a booklet that has a lot of repetition - But really rules are: pool hours, don't leave the outdoor lights on all night, and reminder about it being a neighborhood. Nothing crazy at all, and if you put yourself in the shoes of folks who live nearby, it all seems totally understandable. I rated this 5 stars (we loved it), but I do want to mention a couple things so folks staying are aware: - The house does not have central air - it has 3 smaller wall units to cool. The host asks you don't run these when you are not home, which means returning to a sauna every day. I understand not wasting power, but coming home from an exhausting day of activities or just being in the sun and walking into a sauna was unfortunate. - Slide - the slide is only available between 9a-5a each day, which really bummed out my son who looked forward to this most before our trip and most days we weren't back before 5.

SO MANY RULES

There was an ungodly amount of rules at this property. So much so that we left the last two nights and booked a resort instead. There were a good amount on the listing, but I just figured the owners must have been taken advantage of in the past, so they are super firm upfront. The first thing they ask you to do, which most places also ask, is that you read the rule book. But holy moly, the rules are out of control. One example: "NO MARCO POLO. ITS ANNOYING." No slime, no play doh, no loud noises (in an outdoor pool!?), no sunscreen, no sitting on beds after applying sunscreen, no falling asleep on the couch and the most shocking to me was there is a rule that states if you are a woman on your period you must sleep on or sit on a towel anytime you are on the beds or couch. I just felt like I was the fun police and nervous we were going to get charged for breaking a rule the entire time we were there. It's also odd to me that none of the prior reviews mentioned these absurd rules! As far as the property itself it's gorgeous and equipped with everything needed for a day at the beach which was lovely!

Home away from home

Our stay was enjoyed by all. Essentials plus extras were provided. The pool was well enjoyed by both kids and adults! Waking to the pleasant sounds of birds, enjoying nearby beaches, and many options to eat out or stay in were much appreciated by our family. We are thankful Elaine shared her place with us, we have many memorable experiences.

Maui Gem!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Elaine’s bungalow during our visit to Maui. After spending the day exploring the island, we enjoyed returning to the house for pool time and relaxation. The entire property felt like our own private resort! One of the features we loved was the large, well manicured space outside to run around and chase lizards. The house was clean, cozy, and stocked with all the home essentials one would need including kitchen necessities and beach gear like towels, chairs, coolers, etc. We truly felt the house enhanced our trip to Maui and highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique, exceptional, off-resort property in Hawaii.
