Stay at Maui

Very nice appartment. Good condition, easy access. Close to the beach. Parking in front of the building. I would reconmend to have a car. There are things walking distance but if you want to explore the island or go for groceries it is usefull to have a car.

Perfect

We spent six nights and enjoyed every moment. The two en suites separated by the living area was perfect. The kitchen is stocked with almost everything you could want for cooking (indoors and out), eating and drinking. The condo was clean and very neat when we arrived, and we were happy to have the W/D combo. The Lanai was spacious and a great place to sit. Even though the condo is by the entrance drive, the trees provided privacy and a sense of seclusion. Being right across the street from the beach was absolutely the best. The beach also gave access to the beach path to the south for nice walks. The host, Mary, was absolutely responsive — as other reviews mention. I will pass on that when it comes to the AC, which the host controls, we discovered that she knows what is a proper temp for this climate. One couple in our party thought that the setting would be too high and asked for it to be put down in their bedroom — the next morning they requested it be put back. :-) So give it a chance, Hawaii is a very different climate. This condo doesn’t disappoint. We’d book here again, if we are lucky enough to return to this enchanted land.

Everything was great and the location couldn’t have been better. The only issues were we had to fix the toilet in one bathroom and the shower in the other I ended up plunging the water wasn’t going down:).

Comfy condo. Easy access to beaches.

I went to Maui with my husband and 2 children (15 and 10). We had more than enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably. Mary's condo was clean and cozy - it had everything we needed to enjoy our stay as well as the beaches. The only complaint I would say is that the property was doing construction during the day and it was loud, so it was difficult to get a nap in or rest, but other than that, I would highly recommend this condo. Thanks Mary.

Amazing Stay!!

My friends and I had the best time at Mary’s place. It is located so close to the beach and right down the street from very delicious places to eat. She provided a detailed list of activities to do and beaches to go to. The place was exactly how the pictures looked and was very comfortable. Check in process was easy. I definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing location, right across the beach.

The condo itself is on the older side, but is good for its price, which is on the lower end in the area. The location simply cannot be beat, as we are situated right across the beach. The unit comes with umbrellas, lounge chairs, and snorkeling gears so we didn't have to bring any or rent ourselves. Ourselves. The only downside is that the AC is controlled by the owner so we have to reach out instead of adjusting ourselves. But the communication is always super fast, so that hasn't been an issue.

Joy and satisfaction are the first words that come to mind when describing this condo. We felt safe and comfortable at this place. Literally steps from one of the best beaches in Maul. The sunsets were simply spectacular. One does not get everything you needs on vacation, this place had everything. A clean home away from home, but in paradise.

great location!

So nice to be the closest condo across from the beach! We have stayed at this condo a few times, and appreciate having all the beach gear - chairs, umbrella, towels that are so necessary! Mary has always been very prompt in responding to any emails, and to providing all the necessary information. Nice to have a code for the door, rather than having to carry keys around. I'm not sure how long it's been since the kitchen was stocked, but a suggestion would be to have sharp knives, as well as a full size dish detergent, and a broom to keep on top of the keeping the kitchen floor clean. We did find the vacuum though, so that was good. Thanks again for having us, Mary! We enjoyed our stay! Jan and Dale Wolney Calgary

Maui is beautiful!

The condo was clean, which means a lot. The location was great. Being so close to the beach was wonderful. I would definitely recommend the Maui Banyan. There were some light bulbs burnt out, we contacted the owner and a package of bulbs were delivered that day.

Lots of room, comfortable beds, and great location.

The condo was nice, but comparing it to the two that our two children and families rented, it was a bit funky, and lacking basic things, like salt and pepper in the kitchen. We thought it needs a bit of attention. The owner was very nice and helpful.

Not for families with small kids

We've been in this unit in April with 6-months old baby. From the pictures, it looked nice - but the house smelled very bad (probably because the unit was not renovated for a while). We could not sleep well, and the ventilation system was not working properly. Also there were a lot of bugs coming from the kitchen, and we decided not to use it (and this is something that housekeeping cannot fix easily). Because of that - we actually needed to move to the nearby hotel for three nights. I already communicated this with the owner, and since the description was not updated for families with small kids - I needed to post this negative review for the others.

Not worth half the price we paid. BEWARE - Do Not Rent, Unit is filthy.

So where should I start? How about right when we walked through the front door. We immediately smelled an awful smell that was beyond the normal musty smell that can be associated to homes in high humidity area. It was more of a smokey/chemical/moldy type smell. My guess is that someone let off one of the bug bombs that we found in the closet. We had to purchase air fresheners and stage them around the condo in order to mask the smell. I knew immediately that this condo was not being cared for and that we would be stuck with the odor for our week long stay. :-( We saw lots of ants in the kitchen and bathroom. (see videos) Once we made our way to the bedrooms my daughters noticed that there were stains on the bed spreads. Once the sheets were pulled back they noticed that those were dirty as well. We purchased laundry detergent as well as other cleaning supplies and began washing and cleaning things. Just what we wanted to do on our vacation. The faucet at the kitchen sink leaked. The counter tops, tables and chairs were filthy. (see photos) There is severe water damage in the main room beneath the AC and the back door. The window coverings have stains all over them. Several of the kitchen items are broken and in disarray including two broken blenders, one of which the blades are completely missing. There was significant mold, mildew and just plain dirt in the bathrooms and throughout the living area of the unit. More items to note: There are no fitted sheets and the sheets that were provided did not fit the beds which left you partially lying on the mattress The beds do not have headboards There are no sharp kitchen knives The pan handles for all the pans were loose and wobbly The WiFi did not work during our entire stay The furniture in the main living area have been painted and likely over a very dirty surface which is why it is flaking off. I communicated with the owner and she said she had visited the unit just four weeks prior in December and stated everything was fine then. It was clear that either she misrepresented her visit or her standards are significantly well below those of the average consumer. A picture is worth a thousand words. Needs update

Condo needs some TLC. Missing a TV, dryer was broken when we got there, found dirty towels in a bag in the closet. Phone was missing, no batteries in the remotes for the TV ect. Amenities listed on paper didn't match what we got.
