Beachfront Oceanview Condo Centrally Located For All Your Maui Adventures

The Kauhale Makai Resort (Village By The Sea) is an ocean front property conveniently located in Kihei on Maui's leeward shoreline. Nearby beaches offer calm waters for swimming, snorkeling, and all your favorite ocean activities. It's a short ten minute walk to popular shops and restaurants and the perfect jumping off place for exploring the island.

15 minutes from Makena State Park (Big Beach, Little Beach)
20 minutes from the Kahului International Airport (OGG)
30 minutes to Lahaina and Paia's North Shore

Located next to Waipuilani County Park with access to six tennis courts and the coral Waipuilani Beach, perfect for morning jogs, long walks, and quiet sunbathing. Calm ocean mornings are popular times for kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and canoe club activities. Trade wind afternoons are popular with wind, kite, and wing surfers. You will enjoy this beach-side location's gorgeous ocean views, famous Maui sunsets, and view of Maui's dormant Haleakala volcano year around. The waters just off our shore are Maui's Humpback Whale Sanctuary. If you happen to be here from December to May when the Humpback Whales make their annual migration from Alaska you will have a front row view of these majestic creatures winter playground where sightings happen daily.

This newly renovated condo has a private ocean and mountain view lanai (balcony). Fully equipped kitchen and central air conditioning. All new furnishings and memory foam mattresses. We have tried our best to provide you with all the comforts of home with no less than 4 ways to enjoy your favorite cup of coffee. Including an adjustable coffee grinder, drip coffee maker, french press, stove-top espresso maker, and pour over pot. You should find everything you need to prepare all your favorite meals should you choose to dine in. We have also provided everything you need to enjoy your time at Maui's most popular beaches and other activities. You will find beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel gear, beach blanket, ice chest, cold packs, umbrella and even some beach toys for kids.

Amenities at Kauhale Makai feature a gold putting green, swimming pool, kid’s pool, spa hot tub, volleyball court, and two shuffleboard courts for your enjoyment. There are four gas grill barbeques and tables to dine outdoors. It is a quiet setting for people who want the feeling of being away from the crowds yet very close to restaurants, shops, and popular beach parks. Here are just a couple of suggested attractions nearby.

Beautiful condo in a great location

Condo was perfect, great beach view from the balcony, especially at sunset. Location was very central to the island, everything was just a short drive away. Close to town, so it was easy to run out and get food or anything we needed. Would definitely recommend and return!

Fantastic condo

We had a fantastic stay at Shawn’s place. He is super responsive and answered any and all questions we had. The complex is beautiful. Great views of the ocean and sunset with excellent pool and hot tub area. BBQ area is also set up well. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location and view

We enjoyed our stay in this 5th floor condo. It was clean, quiet and well stocked for all our cooking needs. Plenty of onsite parking and respecting neighbors. Beautiful yard and beachfront for easy access to get the toes in the ocean. Great place to stay to get anywhere on the island too! While on the deck, we had the Sunrise to your left and sunset to your right. We definitely would return!

Great from the start

Everything about the stay was excellent! As soon as we booked, Shawn sent an email with tips for our vacation activities. He responded to all messages promptly. The condo is great - view, comfort, etc. The kitchen is well-stocked - even had a blender! Location was away from the hustle of touristy section of S. Kihei but within short distance to restaurants, etc. We watched the sunset from the beach just yards from the condo. Would stay here again!

Perfect Place to Stay in Kihei!

The property was just as advertised. All pictures and descriptions were accurate. Shawn was responsive within minutes and addressed all questions and requests. Complex is safe, quiet and right on the ocean. We watched beautiful sunsets steps away from the beach or from our balcony. Plenty of free parking. Close to everything in Kihei. We enjoyed our stay and hated to leave. We would definitely stay here again.

The condo was as advertised, just like the photos. The host was great, made sure to provide recommendations on places to eat, and even provided a free coupon code for free grocery delivery to the condo. The complex was clean and quiet. The beach and pool were also nice. It was nice having a beach that we could just walk to, plus the condo had beach chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler, everything needed for a beach day! I would highly recommend this property to any couple looking for somewhere to stay in Maui.

Wonderful!

Quiet, well maintained building and grounds. The condo itself is updated, well stocked and clean. Shawn was always available to answer any questions and provide recommendations for restaurants and activities. The view from the lanai is nice for the ocean and for the mountain. You can walk a long way down the beach and the sunsets are worth it! We're not sure when we'll come back to Maui, but this will definitely be where we look first. Thanks Shawn!

Perfect Place

The Condo is beautiful, up to date and super comfortable. Great view and a short walk to the beach. The common area of the Condo is nice and all the people were super friendly. Very calming atmosphere after a long day. The Super Host was just that, Super. Supplied everything that you might need and very quick response to any questions. I had no negative issues whatsoever. Shawn was an awesome host and communicator! The place was clean and nice beyond expectations. They had everything! And even thought of everything we need. Including the ice chest (with ice packs!!) Great Maui Home Base

Beautiful ocean view setting. Location was central to Maui’s attractions. Shawn gave us very extensive recommendations and tips for island activities. Building is well maintained and landscaped. Unit was clean and had all the modern conveniences, furnishings and supplies were well stocked. Kitchen was very well equipped, right down to gadgets and pantry basics. Bed was very comfortable. Beach chairs, towels and cooler were also included. Shawn has thought of everything to make your stay perfect.

The most amazing condo ever

I can’t thank Shawn enough for hosting my family! The condo is super updated and extremely clean and COLD with a central ac throughout the unit. The view was absolutely breathtaking. We were close to everything we could want. This area is a great to be able to get out an explore. Shawn gave me excellent recommendations for baby rental gear and even went as far as to check in with me after our first night. As a host myself, I was super impressed with how he hosted us. We will gladly return again! Thanks Shawn for everything!

A wonderful home at Maui

Absolutely fantastic. Shawn Always gave us a speedy response. We had no issues throughout, the whole process was easy and carefree. The kitchen was so good to cook delicious food at home. Both the sofa bed and king bed are even more comfortable than our own beds. We were late to arrive because the flight was delayed for two hours. He still instructed us to the room and supply until 10 pm. He was so helpful and kind. And in the room, he also provided different kinds of surfing and beach equipment. Two adults and two little kids can live happily. Highly recommended. Really appreciated it, Shawn. Looking forwards to our next trip to Maui again.

Relaxing Turkey Day Get-Away

In googling rentals close to our son’s address we were so fortunate to find this Oceanview Condo available for our Thanksgiving holiday. In just a 20-minute drive from the airport we had a beautiful view of whales blowing from the living/dining and bedroom areas and a nicely appointed kitchen. We arrived in the late afternoon to a super-clean and tidy place, unpacked, and grabbed some folding chairs from the box o’ fun on the deck. Then strolled out to the beach to watch the gorgeous sunset and on to some holiday grocery shopping at our choice of nearby supermarkets. Along with beach chairs we found a cooler, snorkel gear, and beach towels for a day-trip to Lanai for some relaxing fun in the sun. After which the kitchen provided everything we needed to prep our turkey for it’s evening in the imu pit (thanks to Na Kai Ewalu canoe club for cooking it for us). We dined the next day with our local family then it was back to the condo for board games we found in the bookcase and football on the big screen tv. Although we did not use the bar-be-que area we enjoyed watching others cook, converse, and enjoy it while we sat in the restful hot tub in the pool area. 5 stars all around.

We are a family of 4, and stayed six nights. We liked how easy it was to get to the property from the elevators. The property balcony faces to the south, so it was shielded from the trade winds that came in a few days we were there. We had beautiful views of Haleakalā to the left, and the ocean to the right. This place is perfect to catch sunsets as you don't need to cross the street to get to the beach. The property is in great shape, and has so many helpful things to make your stay special. Parking is easy. We were thrilled to find the box on the balcony full of beach items, including chairs and an umbrella. We were most impressed by the master bed quality mattress and pillows which provided many nights of good sleep! Everything was very clean. The condo had plenty of kitchen items to work with, as well as books and games. The decor is also modern, and the place is well maintained. Our host Shawn was very communicative, and provided many helpful tips on Maui culture, food places, shopping, and suggested activities. Being our first trip to Maui, we were very thankful that Shawn provided us a list of things to prep, plan, and book well before our arrival. Shawn is an excellent communicator and someone you want for a host to have a truly awesome time. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, and plan to stay here again!

Wonderful stay at a cute condo!

My husband and I stayed at this condo unit back in October and had nothing but good things to say about this place. The unit is exactly as pictured and described, and it's the perfect size for a Hawaii getaway. The owner was great at communicating through the whole stay and always got back to me promptly if I had any concerns (we had one minor issue with wifi and he had it called in and they handled it the best they could immediately). Things I loved about this place: it was super clean, there were all the utensils and cooking items you could need for making meals and coffee, and the guests all seem to leave behind little things they purchased for the next person (like spices, jelly, etc. there was a random variety. But do check the experation dates!). The furniture was comfortable, the lanai was so relaxing in the mornings and evenings. The property was right on the beach, but not a beach we really went to much since it is smaller. There were a million beaches close by that we loved. The condo is centrally located and we found driving around to be easy to accomplish. There was also a ton of beach gear! Chairs, a beach blanket/mat, various snorkels, masks, fins, an umbrella, cooler, beach toys for kids, and more. I will say some masks were better than others and there was a variety of sizes but they were free so no complaints. Overall I would absolutely book this place again if we get to go back to Hawaii. Zero regrets! Do it!
