Summary:
Luxuriously updated carriage home completely renovated in Fall 2019. Step into history when you stay in this Frank Furness designed carriage home built in 1884. Just one block away from the downtown of Historic Kennett Square, you can walk just a few blocks to enjoy great restaurants, quaint shops, and all that small-town America has to offer. Located just 40 minutes west of Philadelphia and 1 hour north of Baltimore you'll have easy access to best of the cities while relaxing in living history.

The Space:
Every detail has been thought of and you can relax while enjoying all of the upgrades in our historic carriage home. From the hardwood floors to the luxury bathroom with heated tile flooring, the built-in workspace, to the fully stocked kitchen which will support any chef's needs, only the best finishes have been used. Sink into the comfy beds with soft linens. Lounge on the sofa and enjoy a movie. Or stroll into town and part take in one of our incredible breweries, pizza joints, award-wining resturants or a simple diner. It's all in walking distance. If you want a weekend to check out craft breweries, or local vineyards, several are avaiable all within a short drive. Or step into history and check out Brandywine River Museum or a famous DuPont mansion like Winterthur or Nemours. And don't miss out on world renowned Longwood Gardens with their incredible gardens, fountains and historic home. Kennett Square was voted Coolest Small Town in America by Conde Nast Travel. Come check it out for yourself. FYI: The bathroom is accessed through the bedrooms. Each bedroom has it's own door to the bathroom. Dedicated, high-speed internet, flat-panel TVs and more. The Neighborhood:
WIthin walking distance you can visit world famous Talula's Table (the most difficult resturant to get a reservation in in the world), Kennett Brew Company for your local craft beer and music, Kellers for your small town diner, Portabello's or La Verona for fantastic Italian and so much more.

Getting Around:
Plenty of options within walking distance. Biking and hiking trails closeby. Or step into history and visit the Brandywine Battlefield. Want to visit an Amish Farm, you can with just a short 30 minute drive. So much to do you'll run out of time.

Other Things to Note:
The full bath is a "jack and jill" bath meaning that it is accessed through the bedrooms. Anyone staying on the sofa bed will need to access the bathroom through a bedroom. A pack and play is available for infants.

Lovely property

Exceptionably decorated and lovely, first floor apartment. Kitchen was well stocked with basic foodstuffs. Bathroom location was a bit awkward forget un-related parties (food off each bedroom) but it worked, and I loved the heated floor. Lovely patio to enjoy the afternoon sun. Communication was excellent!

Charming flat walking distance from great coffee!

Our family stayed here for a long autumn wedding weekend and found it cozy and convenient. We are a family of four and had the share the Jack-n-jill bathroom (the only bathroom is between the bedrooms), but we didn’t mind. Everything was spotlessly clean and well appointed . The beds were comfortable, entry was keyless and easy, communication great.

Just Perfect!

Loved everything about the property and location! Within walking distance of all downtown restaurants and stores and easy access to other destinations. This house is well furnished and attention has been paid to all details. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

Great location for our short trip. Convenient to Longwood Gardens and walking distance to Kennett Square businesses. Quick communication with our host (we needed some help for a slightly early check-in and access to the unit). Recommend the Victory brew house for a large selection of beers and good food.

Maiden Lane Hideaway

This delightful "cottage" apartment was tucked back off the main streets but a few steps from the center of Kennett Square's restaurants, shops and farmers market. Best location for visiting Longwood, Hagley, Winterthur and Nemours. We will definitely be back.

The hosts thought of everything!

My husband, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We felt at home instantly. We so appreciated the attention to detail of the decor and the amenities. The hosts truly thought of everything we needed. We visited with friends, walked to Kennett Sq, and visited Longwood gardens during our stay. We highly recommend this property to others. We found it charming and lovely.

Great place to stay

The house was as good as it was described. Two bedrooms with queen-sized beds were good for our family of 5 persons even without using a sofa bed. When arrived, house was cold inside but with extra heaters it warmed quickly next day and was perfect. Special thanks to house owners who gave usa a lot of information before and during the stay and answered our questions swiftly.

We stayed here while in the area for our son's lacrosse tournament. It was a super convenient location - loved being able to walk to shops and restaurants. It had all the comforts of home. We will definitely try to stay here again if we are in the area!

Return visitors to The Apartment

We were very pleased to return to The Apartment in Kennett Square in October 2022. As we found in our first visit, staying right in the heart of this wonderful town is the best way to enjoy the many amenities of Kennett Square--the short walk into town with fine restaurants, the best ice cream you will ever have at La Michoacana, pleasant walks in the neighborhood, and day trips to Bucks County--Doylestown and New Hope; Wilmington; Lancaster City; and Strasburg. We are great fans of Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford; Michener Art Museum in Doylestown; Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington; and the small Demuth Museum in Lancaster. The Apartment has truly become "our home away from home" with all comforts including parking right in front of your door. We can't imagine a better place to stay in the Brandywine River Valley and Kennett Square is the best place to enjoy all the beauty of the fall season!

Hidden Gem!

All I can say about our stay is 5 Stars all around! This property was clean, very well equipped with lots of extras, and a host that was very responsive. Extra towels provided ASAP when requested. The apt is charming, decorated very nicely, and just an overall great experience.

Perfect Kennett Square Get-Away

Comfortable, beautifully decorated, very clean apartment. It appears to be newly renovated with an eye for the convenience and comfort of guests. The hosts anticipated every potential need and provided everything from glassware to toiletries! It is just a VERY short walk into Kennett Square with wonderful restaurants and shops. Also very convenient to Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, and the Brandywine River Museum of Art.

Perfect Location for a perfect stay

What a wonderful stay we had at this incredibly clean and neat little bungalow. My friends and I were looking for a perfect getaway for the weekend to participate in the Pennsylvania Tough Mudder and came across this hideaway. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The accommodations were immaculately clean, organized, and secure. We had the ability to stay right in the old town and enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinners and there were wonderfully independent boutiques throughout the community. We spoke to the owners upon our arrival and they could not have been nicer! Overall I will defiantly return if I am ever in the area once again!! It was the perfect location for the perfect stay!!

Fantastic first floor carriage house residence!

Great, renovated carriage house residence only a 4 block walk to downtown Kennett Square a fabulous, quiet, idyllic town. Loved my stay and wished I’d booked more time, very close to Philadelphia. Residence fully equipped and adorable. Great food at Portobello’s restaurant, reservations a must. Christmas parade the Friday after Thanksgiving was a terrific event.

An Oasis in the wonderful town of Kennett Square

We have visited the Brandywine Valley/Kennett Square area in the past, but this was the first time we stayed right in Kennett Square. The location was perfect (a short walk into the wonderful center of town), our home was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, we had parking in front of the door, and the small touches that make a week's stay a "home away from home" were all present. There are wonderful restaurants (take out from Talula's Table), The Country Butcher and The Produce Place (which rivals big city markets) and the best ice cream you will have (from La Michoacana Homemade Ice Cream). There were pleasant walks in all directions from our home, and we took day trips to some of our favorite places in the area (the antique shops down the road in Chadds Ford, Strasburg, Doylestown and the Michener Art Museum, Wilmington and the Delaware Art Museum, and Oxford and its Amish market). There are many more great experiences for first time visitors--Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, Nemours, Hagley Museum, Lancaster, New Hope. All in all, we plan to stay there again when we visit Kennett Square and I don't think you will find a better place to stay in this beautiful region of PA. Stay right in Kennett Square and you will discover a surprisingly cosmopolitan, friendly and successful small town that has the ingredients for a wonderful holiday.
