Disappointing Experience at Four Seasons O’ahu – Far Below Brand Standards
My recent stay at the Four Seasons O’ahu was a significant letdown, especially given the brand’s reputation for excellence. As someone who owns and operates hotels with 50 years of industry experience and involvement with AAHOA, I hold high expectations for luxury hospitality, and this property fell short in several critical areas.
Upon arrival, the valet and bellmen were exceptional, offering a warm and professional welcome that set a promising tone. However, this positivity quickly faded during check-in. The front desk staff was cold and provided subpar service, lacking the warmth and attention to detail expected from Four Seasons.
The room service was consistently disappointing. Every order arrived with missing items or condiments, which was frustrating and unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. While the poolside staff was pleasant and attentive, the property itself felt dated, more akin to a Marriott than the luxurious Four Seasons experience I anticipated. The prime location seems to be carrying this hotel, but that alone cannot sustain its reputation.
The most egregious issue occurred at the end of our stay. After realizing we left our baby’s pacifier in the room, we asked a housekeeper to assist with accessing it. We waited patiently by the elevator, but when we walked to the room, we encountered a security guard—a bald man whose behavior was utterly deplorable. He was rude, unprofessional,
