"A smaller hotel but with provided a great experience. The staff were outstanding from reception to the bar. The rooms were very cool (we had a family room) and large, clean and very well appointed. The restaurant always looked good with many options enough to satisfy kids too. The kids also loved the pool & table tennis games room. The Dive centre in the hotel was also excellent and one of the reasons we chose this hotel. It all worked well. Just over an hour from the airport but plenty stuff...

"Stayed here with wife and 2 kids in August 2025. Fantastic property in the middle of the action in Stone Town. Staff was attentive to every little detail, great rooftop restaurant: breakfast was delicious, the sunset was stunning and great supper menu. definitely recommend this hotel"

"This is my second time staying at Meliá, and it won’t be my last. It’s not only because the hotel and grounds are beautiful. It’s the staff, they are exceptional, they’re the most friendly, smiley, professional and provide amazing service. Every room is cleaned twice a day and I’ve left valuables lying around and everything has always been safe. My only complaint this time was that there was no working light in the shower but other than that everything was 10/10."

"We had an amazing stay at Sunshine Marine Lodge. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. The reception team helped with arranging tours and activities - we especially loved the tour of Stone Town! The hotel also offers transfer services from the airport, which was really convenient. The resort itself is beautiful and peaceful. The food was also great, especially the fresh fruit at breakfast and the daily specials for lunch and dinner. Cannot recommend this stay enough!"

"I stayed at Zanzibar Palace Hotel from June 8 to June 10 and had an amazing experience. The hotel is full of character, with beautiful Zanzibari decor and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect—close to all the sights, yet quiet at night. A true gem in Stone Town. Highly recommended!"

"I stayed in one of the beach villas with private pool. I had an amazing stay, it was a dream come true. The staff is so wonderful, friendly and thoughtful, and they go above and beyond to make sure you’re happy. "

"Lovely place to stay. Food was ok. Room very spacious and beautifully decorated. Massage was absolutely beautiful. The staff were very attentive and friendly, the manager was a bit of an opportunist and will try get extra $$ when he gets a chance. Overall beautiful place. Would definitely recommend."

"Een mooi hotel in een historisch pand in Stonetown. Heerlijke koffie, gebak en kleine hapjes. Het personeel is zeer behulpzaam."

"Alojamiento ideal en primera linea de playa. El bungalow con vistas al mar es increíble, super bien decorado y con una terraza espectacular. Desayuno muy variado y completísimo. El staff super atento en todo momento. Además, organizan actividades complementarias todos los días. El único pero es que los precios del restaurante son un poco elevados en comparación con los de alrededor. Igualmente, todo fue genial. "
