"This is an authentic old-style ryokan with welcoming hosts who treat their guests like family. The building is very old and, being wooden construction, creaky and drafty, but also charming. "Not only is this lodge one of kind, the owners and staff set it apart by offering a very special experience for all guests. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by the owner welcoming us in and getting us settled in our room. They made sure we got sorted in the morning and ready for our Myoko Adventure. We will be back, only question is how many times!!!"

"The room was extremely spacious and bed was comfortable. Luggage storage lockers and areas available for pre & post check in. Plenty of amenities available from the lobby, including tea/coffee machine. Short walk from the station. This hotel backs onto the train tracks and is next to a road so there was some traffic noise from this but didn't keep me awake or disturb me."

"My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Kokusai 21. It's a nice and big hotel and the staff were all very kind. The rooms were spacious and clean. They also offer a breakfast buffet for a fee and it's really amazing. It's not easy to find a place to eat in the morning, so having a breakfast buffet in the hotel was really great and convenient. I definitely recommend staying here if you are in Nagano."

"This property was beautiful and very clean. Staff are super friendly and accomodating. It is a bit out the way from main areas of Hakuba. However, the hotel does have a shuttle bus, only on a limited schedule though. "

"Cosy hotel with fluffy mattress and duvet - totally enjoyable! Although booked king double bed room, got twin instead. Had to move beds together and deal with 2 separate blankets instead of one big! Also had some bugs in the bathroom. Staff were friendly and nice, super tasty breakfast too! Mixed feelings and felt it was overpriced - obviously because of location as facilities were average. "

"ご夫婦で営まれているオーナーさんご夫婦が優しく出迎えてくださり、施設もちょっとレトロで可愛い雰囲気で良かったです。トイレ、洗面台、冷蔵庫が共用で少し不便でしたが、それもまたいい経験でした。お食事は予約しなかったのでわからないですが、フリードリンクが置いてあっていつでも利用できました。"
