First and foremost, we don’t want to leave! We had such an amazing time at Big Canoe, and the treehouse was truly special. It even convinced my husband to start looking on Zillow to see if any treehouses are currently for sale! We had an incredible time at the marina, enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the clubhouse, and the kids absolutely loved the Beach Club. Looking back, we honestly wish we hadn’t ventured out as much and had spent even more time enjoying all of the amazing amenities Big Canoe has to offer. We spent the Fourth of July on Lake Nottely, which was great, but we heard Big Canoe put on a beautiful fireworks show. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you again for sharing your beautiful home with our family. We made some wonderful memories here, and we hope to be back again soon!

Peaceful and Quiet

Great property up in the trees with an amazing view of Lake Petet, as well as wildlife wandering by. The trees kept the deck shaded from the hot GA sun. The interior had everything that you needed for meals and relaxing.

We had a nice first visit at Big Canoe. I would suggest driving in daylight the first time as the roads are tight and winding and until you get used to the area, kind of scary. The two bedrooms were nice and the shower head was refreshing. We liked all the board games in the closet. The one bed is creaky but still comfortable with a lot of pillows. The kitchen had enough plates and a Keurig machine. The view of the lake is much farther than you realize and there is no way to walk there or really anywhere from the cabin as there are no designated sidewalks. We enjoyed renting a boat at the marina, fishing and swimming in the clear and warm lake. We also liked the Beach club for all the activities and spotted two turtles in the water. The area is beautiful and was very relaxing getaway for us.

Weekend getaway

This is a cozy cottage among the trees, nicely updated for a 45+ year old home. The owners have everything well stocked and the details to make you feel like you are at a friend's home. We loved the porch & the owners were available if you needed anything.

Great weekend away

The property is clean, nicely furnished and has wonderful views! The owners were very responsive when we decided to bring along a new pet and needed to add the pet fee. They also provided lots of great info on getting there and things to do/places to eat in the area. Lots to do, but we really enjoyed sitting on the porch with a fire and a cocktail!
