"Staff was great! Breakfast was delicious. The hotel itself was unique in all the best ways. We were staying in one of the oldest buildings in Charlottesville. We learned , on our tour of Monticello, that Dinsmore was a master carpenter that actually built the dome (and much more) at Monticello. I believe he built this building that is now the Dinsmore. Our room was very old and very comfortable."

"We stayed in the king suite, upon arrival we noticed a damp/musty smell then we noticed water damage to a wall. Everything in the kitchenette wobbled (fridge, microwave, tea kettle), there were no forks just spoons and knives, no glasses just mugs. The hair dryer had hair stuck in it. No hand soap in the bathroom. The tv screen in the bedroom was cracked/broken. No access to the ice machine after 9pm. Parking was a nightmare. When I asked for a later check out they told me it would be $75 for...

"This hotel is fantastic! Gorgeous design, super friendly staff, perfect location, and great connection to the uva community. The rooms were well appointed with super soft robes and towels. The staff went above and beyond to greet us. We also ate at the main restaurant Poplar and the food, decor and service was perfect!
