"This was a really special stay. The room was comfortable, clean and airy. We had lovely views of the mountain side. The staff were very welcoming and the meals were delicious. We had breakfast each day in the restaurant and there was plenty of choice of both hot and cold breakfasts. We had dinner on the first night and I had the kamb. "Rather than stay in Egilsstadir, stay a bit outside of it. Direct access to the lake and, not mentioned in their promos, their own small waterfall!! Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful."

"It's a lovely guesthouse in a former school building, with a small room but a comfortable common area and a well stocked kitchen. Beautiful views of the fjord. The area is a bit isolated--just a tiny village, and it takes over an hour to get there from the main road by a steep winding dirt road. We hiked up the hill, but the trail isn't well maintained. It's a great place for peace and quiet, but not as a base for exploring the eastern fjords."

"We are very pleased that we chose to stay at this hotel. The young gentleman who welcomed us in the evening was very polite and friendly. He made us feel right at home. The hotel is tastefully decorated. The room was spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and new bathroom. In the morning we had an excellent breakfast. "My wife and I just loved this place. We stayed in the room #7. New, clean, well decorated, quiet, peaceful. Very cool interacting with other guests during the delicious breakfast. Marcia, the Portuguese lady that works there was very kind and nice. We do recommend this place!"
