Villa Castelluccia ****
Villa Castelluccia is located on Lake Varano in the province of Foggia, with its own lake access and private beach. This magnificent holiday villa in the heart of the Gargano nature reserve offers everything a family and couple could wish to relax and escape from everyday life. We heat ecologically using a thermal fireplace. With a furnished roof terrace from which you have a breathtaking view of the lake.

The living room

The apartment is adorable. On the large terrace you can eat, dream or simply enjoy the peace and quiet and sunbathe. You also have an excellent panoramic view of the lake and the surrounding mountain range. The lovingly designed equipment: 3 bedrooms with double beds, wardrobes, a room with an exclusive bathroom, large bathroom, large dining table in the salon, kitchen with gas stove and side by side refrigerator. The south-west orientation ensures plenty of sun on the terrace. The location is perfect for a 180 degree view of the lake. The apartment invites you to linger even in bad weather. The villa is made of old masonry, so it is bearable even on hot days. For the sake of the environment, we dispense with extra air conditioning.

You live on the upper floor, which is separated from the ground floor by a separate staircase and entrance. Can be seen very well in the pictures. Our apartment is on the ground floor, but we look forward to your feedback, questions, and on request we would be happy to provide information on excursions or insider tips.

We live there with Laika, our watchdog and loyal companion. You should accept dogs, our German shepherd is stunning and in a good mood. Our life on the Lago is varied and individual. We respect your privacy, but we also cordially invite you to spend evenings together as it suits you.

Animals:

Laika, a wonderful white shepherd dog, lives on the premises. She is reliably sweet but also curious. You should be relaxed in dealing with dogs, could happen, he licks you off when you are down, he likes to play. We also have a cat and some chickens that run freely on the property. They are very tame and used to people, a highlight for children.

For this you have relaxation, the most beautiful sky, time to come down, enjoy yourself as a couple or family. We love it here even in bad weather. Nature is unique at all times. Perfect for stressed cities, even in winter.

Fantastic place to stay with all amenities a family might need.

Had a great time staying with Rosa, Giovanna and their family. They were very friendly hosts, sharing their pizza when we arrived and offering us some produce from their garden. Everything in the house suited us perfectly for the orchid searching holiday that we had planned. We did not realise that most of the smaller towns and villages in the Gargano would be completely closed down during the afternoons but that was not a fault of the accommodation.

Hat nicht unseren Erwartungen entsprochen

Wir haben für Mitte März 2025 einen Aufenthalt von 10 Tagen gebucht.Die Wohnung hat in mehreren Punkten nicht unseren Erwartungen entsprochen:(1) Die Wohnung hat zwar eine Heizung - aber es ist eine Holzheizung, d.h. man muss selbst regelmässig Holz nachlegen. Sowohl tagsüber als auch nachts.(2) Der Hund, der an Gäste gewöhnt sein soll, hat uns dauer-angebellt. Nicht einmal ein Hundeleckerli von seinem Herrchen konnte ihn beruhigen.(3) Der Lago di Varano war die letzte Station unser 2-monatigen Reise in Süditalien. Überall konnten wir problemlos unser Elektroauto an einer Haus-Steckdose laden - sogar in der sehr ländlichen Basilikata. Nicht hier. Das gesamte Haus (2 Wohnungen plus Wasserpumpe für die Frischwasser-Versorgung) hat lediglich eine Leistung von 5 kWh.

Tolle Oase der Ruhe direkt am See und nah zu Meer

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in dieser wunderschönen Ferienwohnung. Giovanni und Rosa sind die besten Gastgeber, die man sich vorstellen kann - sie haben uns herzlich willkommen geheißen, waren immer hilfsbereit und haben uns während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts mit frischem Gemüse, Obst, Kräutern und Olivenöl versorgt. Der eigene Seezugang des Grundstücks ist toll, genauso wie die Dachterasse, von der man den Sonnenuntergang bestaunen kann. Wir können diese Ferienwohnung allen wärmstens empfehlen!

Die Beschreibung der Wohnung war sehr ausführlich und zutreffend.

Unsere Erwartungen wurden in vollem Umfang erfüllt. Die Wohnung lässt in Größe und Ausstattung keine Wünsche offen. Der Einrichtungsstil ist geschmackvoll und beschränkt sich auf das Wesentliche. Sowohl das Gastgeberehepaar als auch die dazugehörigen Hunde, Katzen und Hühner haben wir liebgewonnen. Da beide aus der Region stammen und perfekt deutsch sprechen, erhielten wir viele interessante Informationen jenseits von Reiseführern. Für uns war es aus privaten Gründen eine außergewöhnliche Reise, uns ist viel Gutes widerfahren. Man sieht sich im Leben oft zweimal. Ein schönes Land und herzliche Menschen!

Wir haben die Zeit am Lago di Varano sehr genossen. Die Wohnung ist sehr grosszügig und bestens ausgestattet. Der Garten - den wir mitbenutzen konnten - ist ein wahres Paradies und die Sonnenuntergänge auf der Dachterasse sind ein Traum. Die Gegend lädt zu vielen Unternehmungen ein... wir können die Ferienwohnung wärmstens weiterempfehlen...

Herzliche Gastlichkeit

Die Wohnung und Dachterrasse sind so hell , großzügig und gut ausgestattet wie beschrieben . Rosa, die Vermieterin, ist warmherzig und hilfsbereit . Olivenöl , Gemüse - aber vorallem eine Einladung zu einem köstlichen Abendessen mit Musik und Gesang mit Freunden und Familie werden uns immer in besonderer Erinnerung bleiben . Rundherum ländliche Natur !

Italien pur!

Die Lage am See, total ruhig und mit herrlichem Blick über den See. Wunderbar. Absolut unbeschreiblich ist die Gastfreundschaft von Giovanni und Rosa. Herzlichkeit pur. Ob Gemüse aus dem eigenen Garten, frische Zitronen vom Direkt vom Baum, eigene Marmelade, Tomatensosse, eingelegte Tomaten, … und egal was wir gefragt haben, wir haben immer hoch informative Antworten bekommen. Beide sprchen fliessend deutsch und haben uns Die berühmte italienische Gastfreundschaft von der allerbesten Seite gezeigt. Danke Euch beiden für dieses Erlebnis!!!

Traumhaft!

Wir verbrachten zwei einmalig schöne Wochen in der Villa Castelluccia und sind von diesem Ort restlos begeistert. Die Ferienwohnung dieses überaus herzlichen Gastgeberpaares liess wirklich keine Wünsche übrig. Sie ist sehr gross, geräumig, sehr hochwertig ausgebaut und mit allen Dingen ausgestattet, die man zur Selbstversorgung benötigt. Zudem diese wundervolle Dachterrasse! Die Sonnenuntergänge dort zu geniessen mit Blick auf den See und das Meer in der Ferne ist Luxus pur. Die Lage allgemein ist sehr idyllisch, inmitten von Olivenhainen. Wir und besonders die Kinder durften auch den Garten und den Zugang zum See nutzen. Die Gastgeber sind sehr, sehr gastfreundschaftlich. Sie geben gerne Tipps zur Umgebung, zu Restaurants und Reisezielen weiter. Die Administration von der Buchung bis hin zu unserer Ankunft vor Ort hat reibungslos geklappt. Wir waren rundum bestens betreut. Wir können die Ferienwohnung absolut empfehlen und werden sicher wiederkommen.

Ruhige Tage im Gargano

Die Wohnung ist groß und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Da es zwischendurch (im Oktober) kalt und nass wurde, sorgte ein Kamin, der zugleich die Heizung versorgt, abends für Wärme. Auf der Dachterrasse konnten wir mit herrlichem Weitblick über die Lagune frühstücken. Das Anwesen ist etwas für Tierliebhaber mit Hund, Katzen und Hühnern, die uns jeden Tag mit 2 Frühstückseiern versorgten. Die Vermieter sind sehr persönlich und immer hilfsbereit.

Beautiful accommodation for exploring Gargano

Giovanni and Rosa were wonderful hosts, even though they were in the middle of the olive harvest. The apartment is quite large, and the kitchen was one of the best equipped we've experienced. The rooftop terrace has an incredible view of the sunset over Lago di Varanno. It's a bit of drive to some of the other areas (e.g. the beautiful coastline south of Vieste), but that's true of most places on the peninsula because of the limited number of roads, most of which are quite narrow and twisty. Weather was quite good for the end of October. Rosa delighted us with fresh produce from the garden. We loved the first press olive oil that they shared with us.. Giovanni speaks Italian, German and English (or more). He satisfied our curiousity about olive harvest farming and offered valuable information about the Gargano region. Again, can't say too many good things about our hosts, and we just wish we had a chance to have dinner with them one night. We would return to this house and view.

Traumhaft schön

Wir verbrachten 2 wunderschöne Wochen in der Villa Castelluccia. Die Villa ist gepflegt und modern eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was wir brauchten. Es war ausreichend Platz für 6 erwachsene Personen. Auch die Lage direkt am Lago di Varano ist traumhaft schön. Und Rosa und Giovanni sind einfach grandiose Gastgeber. Sie standen stets mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, wenn wir etwas brauchten, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Sie haben uns mit selbst angebautem Obst und Gemüse verwöhnt und waren so herzlich, dass wir uns rundum wohl gefühlt haben. Danke noch einmal für die schöne Zeit.

Relax sul lago

La casa è molto grande e ha una bellissima vista sul lago, proprietari molto disponibili. Nell'arco di mezz'ora, massimo un ora ci sono spiagge molto belle con acqua limpidissima.

Rust en genieten in Gargano aan het Lago di Varano

Voor wie houdt van een vakantie in een rustige omgeving, in een eeuwenoud, goed onderhouden, schoon(!) en modern ingericht huis voorzien van alle moderne faciliteiten met een prachtig uitzicht op meer en Adriatische zee, dan is dit huis een absolute aanrader. Je kunt je hele vakantie bij het huisje blijven, maar het biedt ook, dankzij goede verbinding met achterland, een goede uitvalsbasis voor dagtrips. De Gargano is zeer veelzijdig als het gaat om cultuur, natuur en recreatie op o.a. aan of op het water. Daarnaast zijn Giovanni en Roza, de eigenaren, ontzettend gastvriendelijke mensen, die alle moeite doen om hun gasten een goed gevoel te geven. @ Giovanni, Roza: Hartelijk bedankt! Voor jonge kinderen is het huis goed geschikt.

Très grand et bel appartement avec vue imprenable sur le lac

Appartement confortable et spacieux au dessus des propriétaires avec immense terrasse privative sur le toit. Accueil exceptionnel de Rosa et Giovanni qui nous ont préparé de sublimes pastas aux moules le soir de notre arrivée. Ils nous ont aussi offert les légumes de leur jardin et convié à une joyeuse et dansante soirée pizzas familiale. Rosa est une cuisinière talentueuse et généreuse ! On sent que l un comme l autre ont sincèrement envie de faire plaisir.

Magnificent!

We planned a spur of the moment visit to Puglia to meet up with our son, his wife and their baby (who live in Sweden) and this wonderful villa was exactly what we were looking for...a peaceful, quiet and relaxing location in the bounty of the Gargano. The hosts were so wonderful to us; they shared their bounty in so many ways, with food, goods from their garden, their table, and their friendship, which we hope to maintain for years to come. The accommodations were perfect; the kitchen was exceptional and our son, who loves to cook, couldn't have been happier. This home has been perfectly restored to offer everything you may be looking for and the terrace above offered an eye-watering view of Lago di Varano and beyond to the Adriatic. Not far, you will find quaint villages with good markets and restaurants, sea-side walks and beaches, and a visit to Vico del Gargano and other Adriatic villages nearby should not be missed. It's a pefect location in the Gargano, and you are surrounded by ancient olive trees, and gardens, and just pure beauty. The outdoor space for children is perfect! Do not miss an opportunity to stay here. I know we will be back again - and soon, I hope! Thank you, hosts!

Angekommen

Die eine oder der eine wird sich fragen „Vermieter wohnt im Haus“, kann das gut gehen? Ja es kann. Diese Vermieter hatten eine Geschichte zu erzählen, wir waren dabei und wir haben die sprichwörtliche Gastfreundschaft kennengelernt. Wir haben zusammen gelacht, gefeiert, gekocht, geerntet, gefischt, waren gemeinsam auf Tour, nie gezwungen, immer locker und entspannt. Tolle Tipps vom Gastgeber. Ein schönes Haus, gut ausgestattet, Haustiere zum Kuscheln für die Kinder und See und Meer waren unsere Freunde. Super Küche, Spaß beim Kochen und wenn was fehlte, Rosa war da. Ein super Urlaub, wir kommen wieder und zwar bald.

A very large and spacious property with every comfort provided. Roof terrace with wonderful views.

Rural location surrounded by olive groves. Wild flowers everywhere. Rosa and Giovanni are exceptional hosts with their generosity and kindness. They went to great lengths to make us feel at home. We had a great time and would heartily recommend this property.

Accueil extraordinaire, maison très confortable, Gargano fabuleux en arrière saison

Nous avons l'impression d'avoir été reçus chez des amis ! Nos hôtes ont su partager avec nous le plaisir qu'ils ont à vivre sur le lac de Varano, au milieu des oliviers, et nous ont même gâtés avec des plats faits maison ! L'arrière-saison est une période idéale pour visiter les Pouilles, temps délicieux et pas un touriste à l'horizon. Maison très confortable, vue splendide.

Ein Platz zum Entspannen und Wohlfühlen

Schon der Empfang durch die Vermieter war herzlich und ließ auf einen entspannten Urlaub hoffen, dann der Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang über dem See mit einem Glas Wein auf der Dachterrasse. Die Wohnung hat alles, was es für einen guten Urlaub braucht. Die Küche ist bestens ausgestattet. Trotz der ruhigen Lage liegen lange Sandstrände und viele sehenswerte Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe und sind mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen. Rosa und Giovanni stehen immer mit Insidertips und -infos bereit und sind ein unkompliziertes Vermieterpaar, deren Offenheit und Herzlichkeit zum Gelingen eines wunderschönen Urlaubs beigetragen haben. Giovanni, wir müssen noch die Partie Tischtennis nachholen, wir kommen wieder!

Very nice, spacious location and excellent hosts

We stayed in this apartment recently. We had an enjoyable time - the view is beautiful, the apartment is large and vey well equiped, great kitchen, clean, 3 large bedrooms. Everything was very clean, and the very best of this rental is the hosts. They did give us a very welcome feeling, provided us with their home-grown products and invited us to join true italian life. This rental will be a great stay for a family who likes the laid back italian lifestyle and enjoy a quiet location!
