"Palazzo Castagna is a beautiful property in the quiet village of Ghaxaq. The bedrooms are spotless with everything you need for for stay. "I stayed here with my husband and my nearly 2-year old daughter. I booked a superior apartment with a balcony which was perfect as it gave us daylight and more space for the 4 days we stayed. The floors could be mopped as we could feel sand on it and our feet became rather dirty from it. "The hotel is well located and the fact it has access to the sea is a plus The pool service is slow and many of the staff don’t seem to know what they’re doing. Bar service was pretty poor too while offering cocktails and then not having the basic ingredients to make them. Coffee at breakfast is awful"

"Close proximity to everything "

"I didn’t care for the breakfast. Glad I didn’t buy all days ahead of time. I did have a massage and it was great! Walls are thin, could hear everything inside hallways, upper rooms and outside. Definitely enjoyed the full kitchen! Nice strong shower and sheets and towels were fine! "

"Lovely staff, especially Jyros and Ana May. Room was perfect , large balcony and hot tub. Pool was a little disappointing, it looks bigger in the photos. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice. Central location, easy to get round Valletta. Would recommend. "

"Staff were lovely & very helpful. Breakfast was ok with a reasonable choice of items. However, we were offered free dinner one night as there was a problem with our room when we arrived & I can only say that I’m glad we weren’t paying for it, the food was very poor. The sea view rooms have a great view but very noisy with the busy road & restaurants below. Good location for transport links."
