Here with us, you will be drawn by the irresistible combination of a clean beach, sparkling sea, and both the tranquility and the wildness of the scenery. The 5-bedroom Villa is built on the top of the hill above the sea only a 5-minute walk and 2,5 km from the nearest village of Makrigialos, 27 km Ierapetra, 35 km Sitia, 120 km Heraklion airport. Long stayers will have a discount.

Lovely property and great host

We stayed here with another family, the villa is excellent and the pool fantastic. There was a beach close by which was nice too. We had a minor issue with on of the A/C units but was dealt with within 30 minutes! Lovely clean place to relax and chill, would highly recommend. Excellent communication with host.

Very nice house but a bit remote

The house is very nice and we had a very good time there, even as a relatively large group. The communication with the agency was very good, friendly and reliable. The main drawback is the quite remote location. With small kids, you have to take the car to go anywhere.

Really Nice Place.

The house itself was perfect for even the large group of 12 of us. There is many things to do in the town itself and the local scenery and beaches were lovely. As my whole party was under 21 we could not rent a car so we rented bicycles from the town and I can not recommend this enough. Overall had an amazing holiday👍

Rural and rustic

Incredible views of the coastline, with very flexible accommodation which was very welcome as we were 4 households and we needed a villa with no bathroom sharing or having to sleep on sofas. 3 upstairs rooms have large balconies and one double room downstairs. Also a further room which had a double room but also two singles, in a separate area downstairs, ideal for a young family. The pool area is lovely, but the pool is quite deep both ends, so I would not recommend for children who need a shallow end to paddle. 10 minutes drive into Markry Gialos and lots of small supermarkets, superb bakery, pharmacy, large free car park with access to a sandy beach and lots of restaurants along the harbour. A car is essential because you a perched on a hill and feel as if you are at the end of the island. Absolutely magical. Our host was easy to contact which was lucky as we managed to lock ourselves out by the pool one evening, the back door only opens with a key, so don’t leave it inside like we did, then a gush of wind slammed it shut! She came within ten minutes to rescue us and unlock the door. There’s two kitchen areas, a small one upstairs which we didn’t use as we all ate breakfast together downstairs and then we were out most days all day. There’s lots of Tupperware which was great to stop the ants getting into open packets. Air conditioning was good, Wi-Fi did come and go, but was good most of the time. 4G signal strong though so you get a good signal. Good value accommodation.

Magnifique séjour

Les restaurants et les commerçants sont vraiment très accueillants, voir extrêmement agréables. Le paysage est magnifique, la vue de la maison est superbe, la maison est très belle aussi, nous avons beaucoup profité de la belle piscine et les plages sont merveilleuses. Tout aurait été parfait si nous avions été accueilli à l'arrivé, et si le numéro de téléphone de l'hébergeant avait répondu à nos appels pour : 1) trouver la maison cachée dans la montagne, heureusement nous avions les coordonnées GPS... 2) nous donner le code boite de la boite à clefs, soumis à l'attente de la réponse par mail que vers 19h00 le jour de l'arrivée, 3) Attention, il y a 5 vraies chambres car une est en enfilade avec une autre, et des fils électriques sortent du mur dans la douche de ces 2 chambres, même si cela ne nous a pas trop dérangés car toutes les chambres ont une douche, wc... 4) quitter la maison, cela aurait été sympathique de saluer le gérant lors de notre départ, même s'il y a une boîte à clefs. Heureusement, la réponse du gérant par mail fonctionne bien et celui-ci donne suite à nos demandes rapidement, (comme venir nettoyer la piscine), donc nos avons vraiment passés un excellent séjour dans une très belle maison, et un pays magnifique. Zufrieden

Sehr geräumige Villa mit schönen Schlafzimmern. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich. Toll war die vorhandene Waschmaschine und Spülmaschine. Auch super war, dass 2 Mal während unseres Aufenthalts geputzt wurde und auch die Handtücher getauscht wurden. Leider sieht man dem Mobilar/Installationen an einigen Stellen an, dass diese etwas älter sind. Wir hatten aber einen schönen Aufenthalt. Die Kinder haben den Pool geliebt. Da war es auch toll, dass jeden Tag jemand kam um diesen sauber u machen.

Amazing

We really loved this Villa! It was perfect and what a view from the bedrooms upstairs! Great place if you want little more private living and still just have 3 min for a swim in the ocean on a beach all to your self! So much to see and do here! We really can recomend this Villa for families!

Outstanding views and location

Makrigialos is a beautiful town with amazing beaches and outstanding, authentic taverns (eg. Dragon’s cave, Faros fish tavern) Villa Aeolus offers great access to the town, beaches and taverns ( a car is a most) while still giving you the beauty of been surrounded by nature with amazing sea and mountain views. The villa’s outdoor area and balconies are great! This villa has many bedrooms and will be best for multiple families most bathrooms are very small. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils, pots, pans etc. but needs to be renovated. The washer can be difficult to operate. Overall, we had an amazing time!

A real find!

We were so impressed with this property which far exceeded the online description. There were 11 of us travelling, aged from 4 years to 86. The 2 bedrooms on the ground floor were ideal for the eldest and youngest (the doors had locks to prevent accidental escapes) and all 3 1st-floor rooms had a balcony or shared balcony, all with fantastic views to the beach and Makrygialos beyond. All rooms had their own shower room and loo, so no queues! I should also mention that one of the ground floor rooms was effectively 2 rooms, with a separate apartment for the children. The kitchen was well equipped and perfectly adequate; 2 fridges were very welcome with so many people, but we especially enjoyed the covered outside dining area, adjacent to the kitchen, where each day would begin and end, often well into the next morning (for some of us). The lovely pool was maintained every morning and there were loungers for everybody and room enough to position them all. As to the location: it is in an elevated position above the beach, which is accessible via a footpath from the back door, although some may prefer to drive the short distance. Our host, Mrs Nota Skourtanioti Anastasopoulos, was very friendly and discreet. We met on the first and last days only, but she or her daughter could be contacted easily by phone. We all loved it. A real find!

Wij hebben een super week gehad , de gastvrouw was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Alles was erg schoon en netjes, het terras en het zwembad werd iedere morgen schoon gemaakt voor dat iedereen wakker was. Voor ins was dit een top verblijf.

Schönes abgelegenes Haus

Der erste Eindruck war etwas ernüchternd, weil das Haus nicht so großzügig und luxuriös ist, wie es auf den Bildern wirkt. Wir hatten aber eine sehr schöne Zeit in einem sauberen und gemütlichen Haus. Den Strand hatten wir immer für uns allein. Der Pool hat super Wasser und wird täglich gesäubert. Maria unser Host war super freundlich und hatte gute Tipps für die Umgebung. Sie hat angeboten das Haus während unseres Aufenthaltes zweimal umsonst zu reinigen. Der Osten von Kreta ist nicht von Touristen überlaufen. Dadurch gibt es wenig Freizeit Aktivitäten. Für uns ein super Urlaub :-)

wonderful holiday spot

We were a group of 10 friends and spent 10 days at Nota's house. It is very spacious, the kitchen has everything it needs, enough tables and chairs, 2 balconies with a great view and the outdoor space is wonderful. The pool is great, it was cleaned regularly during our stay. The house is a few minutes drive away from the small town Makry Gialos where you find supermarkets, restaurants and souvenir shops. The house itself is up a hill in a very quiet surrounding with an astonishing view over the bay and the mountains. There is one bay in walking distance, many other beautiful bays to drive to or have longer walks to. Nota was always available and responded very quickly when we needed anything or had a question. I highly recommend the place and would come back any time!
