"Quaint 1970s style wooden building nicely decorated - they even had a turntable and albums (in addition to the bluetooth speaker). The upstairs loft overlooking the living room is just as pictured. The bed was comfy if the pillows could use an update; they were a bit too flat and lumpy for our liking but it's really our only complaint. "Our family really enjoyed our stay! The location was great, and the rental itself was clean, comfortable, and had a cozy, homey feel. The kids loved having space to run around in the fenced-in backyard, and we especially enjoyed relaxing by the fire pit in the evening.Communication with the host was excellent— They were very responsive and quick to answer any questions we had.Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again. "5 of us stayed at the house and it was a great choice to book here. Check in was easy, the house had plenty of space for us to all sit at the table or in the lounge room. The kitchen had most everything needed (measuring cups would be my suggestion). Everything was very clean, bathrooms were well stocked. No complaints at all. Loved the fire pit even though it rained. "We loved our stay at Methven Cottage. The property is beautiful and stacked with stuff to do everything you could want to do on a wonderful vacation. While it did get very uncomfortable due to the heat, that is to be expected in an older property without air conditioning. The owners were also very accomodating and even sent up a plumber to deal with out kitchen sink problem. They were incredibly helpful to our joyous experience."
