"Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. Overall, thoroughly recommended."

"We checked into the Grand Royal in York after a dismal experience at another hotel in York. The room, air conditioning, and staff were fabulous. The room was gorgeous, the staff could not have been more helpful, and we looked a mess after a bad experience at another hotel in York, but they treated us with respect and helped us to our room. The breakfast was fantastic, bar and restaurant and spa as well. This is the BEST hotel in York!"

"Lovely clean room with excellent shower room with toiletries. Huge TV! Fridge and kettle with tea and coffee all very welcome. The room was slightly on the small side with access to one of the twin beds a bit of a squeeze! But beds were comfortable.Check in was super quick and friendly. The breakfast area was modern and spacious and the breakfast choices were extensive and excellent. All in all this was exactly what we wanted in an excellent and convenient area for exploring the fabulous city of...

"Good location 15 mins walk to centre along the river. Clean rooms and adaquite kitchen. Free morning pastries was a basket full of plain croissants not alot of choise there. Coffee machine was broke but hot water and coffee available in its place. We just made one in our room. Lovely veiw over the river."
