Booked and paid for this property via Expedia an hour before arrival. I booked as it was supposed to be a 4 Star Hotel. It definitely isn’t.
On arrival, from the outside it looks ok. I went to check in and I was asked to pay, and even though I explained that I had paid via Expedia, I was told it wasn’t showing as paid on their system. So paid with my credit card. I went up to the room, checked my online account and sure enough, charged twice. Although I will say it was significantly cheaper to book direct with the hotel than via Expedia. So I won’t be using Expedia any more! Give the hotel credit, it was refunded when I checked out.
Now the hotel room… Hottest day of the year and the hotel doesn’t have aircon. The “opening windows” was a 1 inch gap, stifling heat, but the hotel did provide a fan.
Carpets dirty and stained, walls similar. Bathroom had a broken towel rail, broken toilet flush, and the inside of the toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Open electrical socket in the bathroom, filthy ceiling lights, dirty walls, door handles and mouldy windows… list goes on.
I then laid on the top of the bed and then was bitten three times by something!
All in all, a tired, dated hotel that certainly should not have that fourth star! Two star plus at best.
