It felt more like being a house guest than a customer. The restaurant was an outstanding choice for dinner and accommodation for vegetarians and allergies were taken into consideration and excellent meals with tasty desserts and great wine and cocktails now has this on our summer spots to visit!!"

"South Shire is a beautiful place filled with history and character. The staff were wonderful; kind and attentive. They were welcoming to us and our pup throughout the stay. We were very happy with the quality of the mattress and linens as well as the ac being nice and cold on a very hot day (not always things you find in an older bed and breakfast.) "What a nice, vintage place - yet very clean and not shabby at all! I enjoyed sitting on the porch. A breakfast place is nearby. I thought being so old, there would be thin walls, but it was so quiet! The bed was comfy and the shower was so great, I took a picture of the shower head to get for home. I would definitely stay here again if in this part of Vermont. "
