We were on the top floor which was supposed to have a nice view, it had a door and a wall of concrete. The room was unbearably humid while the rest of the hotel was not. Everything was dingy dirty.
The ice maker clearly had not worked in a longggg time, calcified water was dried allllllll over the floor.
The elevators get stuck on the 6th floor regularly, which may explain why they don’t bother to clean it. It is disgusting.
We have not been this unhappy with a hotel stay in years. If there had been a way to get a refund and go pay twice as much, and have to drive twenty minutes to get downtown, I would have gladly done it. I asked, no refunds, despite ending up with a migraine from the mold in the room due to humidity level. We stayed outside by the valet for hours to avoid going to the room.
I will say this, the staff was wonderful, from valet to front desk, to housekeeping. All just as kind as could be, but their hands are tied. It’s up to owners to solve these issues. I have always loved Marriott, this was shockingly disappointing.
