River-Front Cottage On The Juniata River

Please know that the health and safety of our guests is our primary concern! We follow CDC cleaning and sanitation guidelines as well as maintaining a 1-day (24-hour) buffer between rentals.
Peaceful cabin with screened-in porch, large deck, fully equipped kitchen. Sit on the porch swing and watch the river. Or take a float in your kayak or tube, there are steps to the river between our two cabins as well as plenty of public launch points nearby. Close access to the river lets you swim or fish to your heart's content. We have 2 one-person kayaks available with paddles and life jackets. Must sign a waiver to use the kayaks.
A birder's paradise! We've seen osprey, eagles, herons and other water birds, as well as countless songbirds. Add your spottings to our list!
Visit historical sites like Old Bedford Village or the Coverlet Museum, or shop for antiques nearby. Cabin is close to Bedford and Everett, but on a quiet rural lane with no through traffic.
Enjoy the fire ring and picnic table in the yard, or dine inside with views of the tranquil, shaded yard. Cabin is rustic, with basic amenities including Wi-Fi internet, a flat screen smart TV, and a gas grill. It's the perfect spot for those who just want to "get away from it all". Please note that we do not provide sheets or towels. Also, please be aware that the cabin is not toddler-proof! Cleaning supplies are located under the kitchen sink and in the bathroom, and upstairs bedrooms have curtains rather than doors.

We love coming here

We come to this cabin every year-- five years in a row now-- and we love it. It's clean, comfortable, the bird watching is excellent, and it's so quiet and relaxing.If this property ever went up for sale I'd buy it so fast.

Perfect getaway

Perfect getaway. The property was absolutely gorgeous. The house was completely stocked and clean. The river is a few steps out the door. It rained the entire time so we didnt fish much. The host susan went above and beyond. If you're looking to be off grid this is the place for you. We are already planning our next trip(we plan to stay a lot longer next time.

We look forward to this trip every year.

This cabin is clean, comfortable, and offers great views of the Juniata River. My partner and I come every June and we absolutely love it. It's quiet, secluded, and a great spot for fishing or bird watching. Can't recommend it enough-- we're already planning our stay for next year. Honestly, if the owners are ever looking to sell... I'd buy it!

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY

Perfect location on the Juniata River. We saw deer, chipmunks, fish (BIG FISH), turtles and a Baltimore Oriole bird, yellow finch, blue heron. Peaceful - kids stayed on the river all day kayaking, swimming & fishing. Beds were comfortable and A/C was a blessing. PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!

Memorial Day Weekend

This was our third visit. It is a perfect spot right on the banks of the Juniata. It is not a far drive for biking the local HB&T Trail, Abandoned PA Turnpike and a little further away is the Lower Trail. Also several shops and restaurants in Everett and Bedford. This is a cozy, rustic getaway that we have come to very much like. Susan is the perfect host!

Great little getaway

This was a great spot cute little cabin on the river Mothball smell was a bit intense but they did say we were the first guest of the season we just opened some windows and aired it out then it was fine for the rest of our stay. Beds were really comfortable we all slept great!

Peaceful Vacation

The property was clean, quiet and very pleasant. Susan was very accommodative and easy to communicate with. She was very prompt at responding for the queries. We had a great time and enjoyed the surroundings. The heater and extra blankets were very helpful as the weather is clod. I would highly recommend this house for vacation . The Kayaks were a good bonus. Our kids enjoyed it a lot.

Wonderful cabin right on the river

Lovely area, we really enjoyed our time at the Juniata Cabin with its porch swing overlooking the river, its fire pit, and the fun stash of lawn and board games. The access to bike trails, Raystown Lake, and Everett for groceries and ice cream was a great bonus. We appreciated the details and amenities and how there was plenty of space in the house. Only suggestion is an upgrade of the mattress in the master bedroom. Thanks for opening your home to us!

Very relaxing

We had a great time at the home. It was very relaxing in a very quiet area. The fishing is great. Getting down to the water from the property is the only issue. Most of us had no problems, but it would be tough for anyone with physical limitations. It requires using a rope to climb down. I'm sure they've tried different things to make it better, but the water just destroys it. There are launch spots close to the home though, so it's not to big of an issue. We mostly launched from behind the home and got out at "Cypher bridge". They have directions and maps at yhe home, which is great too. Great place to relax on the porch and read s book orgame nights with the family. Plus, the fishing is awesome. Carp and smallmouth bass are everywhere.

Juniata River Cottage

This was our second stay at the cottage. The property was clean, quiet, and very enjoyable (as expected). There are plenty of things to do in Bedford County including bike trails, hiking, shopping and nice restaurants. Susan was very gracious and accommodating and we hope to make next year our third visit.

Restful and relaxing

Susan was very accommodating and great to work with. House was well stocked with everything you need. Our stay was at the end of the season and weather was cooler than expected so the heater and extra blankets were much needed. Nice time to disconnect from the normal stuff of everyday life! Breathtaking views everywhere

My high school girlfriends and I went the weekend of Oct. 14. 2022. We have beautiful weather and the fall foliage was amazing. The river was a little low but it still was beautiful. We got to see ducks and geese land and swim around. There were a few men out there fly fishing too. We even had a young doe come visit while we were sitting on the side porch one evening. The house is amazing. It's fully stocked with everything you would need during your stay. We cooked breakfast and dinners and of course had plenty of junk food to eat around the fires we built outdoors every day. There is also a bunch of games which we did play yahtzee and battleship. There is A nice selection of movies too! Susan was an amazing host and took a lot of time to help me when we were having problems with the Internet connection. I would love to come back with my husband next summer, but we have doggies. I would highly recommend this house! It would be a great place for a family to vacation, especially during the summer time when you can tube down the river.
