A few hours before check in, I got a text informing that there will be no power at the hotel until 7pm, due to the city working on the power. That means no lights or AC until the power turns back on. I know it is not the hotel's fault so I was okay about it and didn't ask for compensation.
I was able to check in and drop my stuff off in my room. Thankfully there was 2 elevators working; thanks to their backup generators.
I went exploring and shopping until 7:30pm to make sure the power was working.
My room number was 1022. It had a fantastic view. The place was quiet and secure. In fact, it was so quiet that I thought i was the only person on my floor and wing.
The room needs some refurbishing, Particularly the bathroom. The shower was not cleaned, there was a shaver and a used wash towel on the shower handle. The vanity inside was dusty..I had to dust it to use it. Caulking on the shower pan was in pieces and water was going in. It will be a matter of time before the water will damage the bathroom floor.
In the kitchen, a piece of wood trimming fell by itself. I couldn't figure out where it came from. I left it in the closet for maintenance. Turns out it was the trim for the dishwasher...which we had no dishwasher soap provided.
The switch to the garbage disposal was on. I assumed it was left on during the power outage. Upon looking under the sink, there is NO garbage disposal!
Overall, I liked the location of this resort. Very walkable.
