"A wonderful, clean,air condtioned room and staff can be contacted 24/7 if any problems. Bed was very comfortable and being left a small bottle of milk in the fridge was a nice touch. Parking was no problem at all in front of buillding. Did have any food but all looked lovely. Would definately recommend."

"Really great hotel with so much attention to detail. Record players in the room and a huge selection of records is a really nice touch. The Radio was on when we arrived to our room and the Pantry is generous & a really unique touch. Canadian lady on the Bar was knowledgeable & super friendly (Pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the extensive bar menu was priced). Just really really cool & great location."

"All good however the sewing kit noted was missing from the cupboard and there should be a small fridge in my opinion for the Ebor suite. The breakfast was delicious and swift."

"We were put in room 41 in the Lodge at the bottom of the car park. When we checked in the window was wide open and there was a smell of damp. As we were going straight out we just dropped our bags, closed the window and left. We came back at 1-pm to an overwhelming smell of damp. It is possibly the worst hotel room I have ever slept in."

"Perfect location for walking through York Gardens. We were downstairs but still had plenty of light coming through. Lots of space and we cracked our window at night which kept us cool enough - though wished there was a safety lock on the windows - we didn’t notice one. And the fan could be cleaned - didn’t use because it was covered it dust. Sink was stopped up but couldn’t be we didn’t know how to open the drain more."

"We had a lovely weekend stay at this hotel, which is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre and close to York’s many attractions. Our air conditioned room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, dressing table, hairdryer, iron, tv and plenty of power sockets. The en-suite had a spacious walk-in shower and toiletries were included. We used the hotel restaurant in the evenings and our meals were both well presented and delicious. The room was small but nice and had the flowers I had preordered and we could see the Minster through the fire escape door, we were in the "Belfry". I had booked what I thought would be a romanatic evening meal in the hotel only to find they were not using the dinning rooom and would have to eat in the bar downsatirs. "The staff at Ascot House were great. The breakfasts are pretty much set with some exceptions if you don't like something, the chef tries to accommodate when it's possible which is a great thing to be able to offer. The owner June does a great job with keeping Ascot House friendly and accessible to all people. We had a lovely time staying here and visiting York."

"Calm quiet atmosphere. Paper thin walks, could hear people on the toilet next door! Very tiny shower, DIY shelf that kept crashing down , hit me on the head. Breakfast, polite staff. Car parking is a joke, £15 per night. And empty . NPC is cheaper. Very near to York, lovely walk into town. Over priced and more of a student , back packer style accommodation."
