The location is excellent and the staff are fabulous. Michelle at reception was very personable. Stewart and Laura provided outstanding service at breakfast. We were disappointed that there were four issues with our room that should not have been that way on our arrival. The most troubling issue was the toilet did not work. We had to clean the toilet on arrival and then discovered it did not flush. They could not fix it until the next day so we had to use the toilet by reception. This was very difficult for someone who deals with IBS. We moved to another room the next day in case the toilet and other issues were not fixed but we did not have access to the new room until after 1:00. We were surprised management did not appreciate the challenges we had and offer some sort of retribution. Even a refund on our parking would have made us feel better since we moved our belongings to our car while waiting for the new room. The only response the manager said was they don’t know if customers don’t mention it. Well the cleaning person should have known the toilet didn’t work if they had cleaned it and someone could have fixed it before our arrival. There was a letter in the room commenting they are a small independent family owned hotel and requested problems be reported to them rather than posting reviews. I gave every opportunity for the manager to deal with our concerns and make it right before doing this review. We did not hear anything.
