The location of this penthouse is fantastic — the shops are right across the street, so there’s really no need to drive anywhere. Parking was also very easy, which made coming and going simple. That said, there are several issues that made our stay less enjoyable. When we first arrived, there was no one around to help us find the apartment. If you’ve never been there before, the building feels confusing and unwelcoming — dimly lit halls that almost look abandoned, which gave off a suspicious vibe.Once inside, the penthouse itself is not well maintained and, from a family perspective, doesn’t feel safe for kids. In the kitchen, the vinyl flooring had a large gap that caused my child to stub his toe. The main entry door doesn’t close properly, and the chain lock on the back of the door is broken. The blinds in the living and dining area are old, missing panels, and don’t close, while the curtains in the bedrooms aren’t blackout, which made naps and mornings tough. Several knobs on the kitchen cabinets were loose, and the console/table in front of the couch also had a door hanging off with a loose knob. In one of the guest bathrooms, the towel rack was completely off the wall. Worst of all, my toddler actually found loose screws on the floor — which is frightening as a parent.Overall, the location and parking were great, but the lack of upkeep and basic safety made this stay frustrating. With some maintenance and attention to detail, this place could be much better.
