"Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Room clean, quiet and bed so comfortable, slept very well. All the staff were extremely helpful and kind. "We checked into the Grand Royal in York after a dismal experience at another hotel in York. The room, air conditioning, and staff were fabulous. The room was gorgeous, the staff could not have been more helpful, and we looked a mess after a bad experience at another hotel in York, but they treated us with respect and helped us to our room. The breakfast was fantastic, bar and restaurant and spa as well. This is the BEST hotel in York!"

"Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. Overall, thoroughly recommended."
