Mountain Majesty Home is a Gorgeous Mountain Home in a lovely Alpine Setting located only 15 minutes from downtown Durango and a 5 minute drive to Hesperus Ski Area. Approximately 3,400 square feet of living area gives 12 adults plenty of room to have their own privacy. Wifi Network name is: NETGEAR37 Password is: oddbolt518
Trash: Empty trash in the biggest green bin outside. Combination is 0000.
Kennebec Restaurant, a fine dining gourmet cuisine, is only a 3 minute drive..
Mountain Majesty Home is perfectly located to take in some of the most magnificent, "in your face" views! This home sits in the foothills of La Plata Canyon. Professionally decorated with strategic ambience in mind. Check in and Check out is easy and secure.
There are 2 Master Suites one with a King Bed the other a Queen Bed.
The other bedrooms proximity to the living areas make the easily accessible. Each bedroom has 100% Cotton sheets and Blankets with no annoying polyester. Views from each Master Suite are of the Snow Capped La Plata Mountains. Parrot Peak, Kennebec Peak, Deadwood Canyon and Mount Baldy are all in your face views while lying in bed counting the stars....A Babbling Alpine Stream is just a 5 minute healthy walk away from Mountain Majesty. Go north on the road until you see the Stream:).
A finely appointed home with plenty of room for 12 Adults to comfortably enjoy. A very nice kitchen with a great dining room to entertain your guests while looking at the Panoramic Snow Capped Mountain Views!
Plenty of parking which includes a 2 car garage, and 5+ car outdoor parking area. There are 3 HDTV's located strategically throughout the house each with Direct TV and Tevo capabilities.
There are many Touring companies available in Durango where you can book Mountain Bike tours as well as Four Wheel Drive tours in the nearby La Plata Canyon.
Wifi throughout the house.
There are 2 deck where you can enjoy barbecue dinners in the Spring and Summer.
You are only a short 15 minute drive to historic Durango where you can experience fine dining in several restaurants including, The Palace, Ken and Sue's, Himalayan Indian cuisine, Tequila's Mexican Restaurant, Serious Texas Barbecue (2 Locations) and more! The Durango-Silverton train offers a very popular all day train trip to Silverton where you can enjoy lunch prior to returning back to Durango.
Mesa Verde National Park is only a 25 minute drive from Mountain Majesty Home. Telluride is a 1 hour and 45 minute drive. As you can see there is plenty to do and plenty of sites to see while centrally located at Mountain Majesty Home.
Bonus: Get ready for elk, deer and wild turkey sightings from the deck!! The San Juan National Forest borders the County Road just 1/4 mile up the road from the driveway. Owner also owns and has available VRBO #1647501 and VRBO #617449.

This was a great location to go to Durango or Mesa Verde! The space was big enough for six adults to comfortably hang out and visit. The kitchen was well stocked, the bathrooms clean and the beds comfortable. We had a snag in our stay but Ron was prompt in getting back to us and fixing the problem. We had a great time! Thanks.

The upstairs living quarters could get toasty during the day, even with all the shades pulled. It was very clean, which is always appreciated and the kitchen was well stocked with pans, strainers, gadgets and everything we needed, including 2 coffee pots. We saw a bear from the back deck and a coyote out by the cars! Mattresses were comfy.

Amazing views Perfect location

Don't stay in Durango - stay in the mountains where there is Elk, deer, bobcats, and cool temperatures. The home is fun - great for gatherings. Close to Mesa Verde and Durango. Leave the city and come to the quiet setting and listen to birds wake you in the morning. The owner is also great to work with - good response time and accurate. Willing to make things good when needed.

Lovely spacious home, top notch host

Lots of space for our family reunion of 9. Complete kitchen and an amazing access to supplies. Excellent in so many ways, beautiful view and deck to hang out on..The reason for a 4 star: I was under the impression that the master bedroom was on the first floor. It was but as a split living there were about 5 steps up the living area and kitchen. My handicapped husband couldn’t eat with the family. Also there was no place for the kids to play outside. There was plenty of space but the yard was left to go natural so grass and weeds were too tall.Location was great if you plan to go to Mesa Verde, which we did twice. Otherwise, a little far from town for activities for young kids.The host is excellent. Very accommodating and gracious. Quick to respond to messages. Unfortunately my husband had a lot of health issues but Ron was understanding and helpful. I would recommend this rental.

Spacious with awesome views

The host was very easy to communicate with and worked with my group to allow us the option of checking in an hour early, if needed. When we arrived, the house was very spacious with lots of room to accommodate our party of 9, and the views were awesome. We were there to spend a day on the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge steam train and the Mountain Majesty was the perfect place to stay.

The property is easy to get to. There are a lot of stairs, so keep that in mind. There is no television in the main living room, so you have to go downstairs to watch anything. There were plenty of supplies.

The main attractions of this home are its proximity to downtown Durango and its location in a picturesque area. The home was clean but dated. The host was accommodating when needed.

Amazing Property! Stay was Fantastic.

Easy access and the house was very accommodating. I did not have to contact the owner during our visit so that says a lot in its own! Highly recommend this rental for family vacations. Views were breathtaking.

Family get away

The property was nice. The surrounding was gorgeous. We had a few concerns. There was a problem with the heating. Common area was 58* in the morning and the downstair bedrooms were just as cold. Couldn't get the downstairs TV to work. Probably the batteries in the remotes. The bathroom on the main floor was inconvient as we had to go through a bedroom to reach it.

Christmas in Colorado

When we first saw the house I thought there’s no way it’s as big as it says in the description. I was so wrong!! My 3 grown children their spouses and my 4 grand children all fit comfortably. We had an amazing Christmas in this beautiful home!!

Lots of space, nice house, great view

Enjoyed our stay, house got very cold, thermostat was set to Celsius and seemed to take hours to warm up each morning but it did work. Nice house, comfortable furniture, lots of space for us. But we ran out of toilet paper, towels were in the dryer when we arrived and there weren’t enough of them. Wasn’t the most impressive trip but we would stay here again because of the space and I would just verify towels and toilet paper on the first day and communicate with manager right away before running out.

Thanksgiving in Durango

Loved the house and the location. Waking up to a view of snow capped mtns is hard to beat. We thoroughly enjoyed the narrow gauge train ride into the mtns and having the entire family in one house made for lots of time together. Would definitely come back.

Great Restful break

I have several matters I'd like to tell the owner, but it doesn't need to go into the review. Problems with house in Hesperus Ice Maker doesn't work; The thermostat in the upstairs bedroom doesn't work- it is blank. Perhaps it needs a new battery. In that same bedroom, the TV remote is missing, so cannot operate the TV in that room. The light under the microwave is not working. Light switch in the alcove as you enter the main master bedroom does not work. Light bulb on the lamp on the table of the small bedroom upstairs needs replacing.
