"Just left after a 4 night stay while moving our son to Berkeley for law school. Great hotel. Extremely nice, pleasant, and friendly staff. Room was great - clean, comfortable mattress and pillows, and super effective AC. Would definitely recommend it. A+. "

"The wonderful, friendly, helpful staff absolutely made this visit. The rooms are small but modernized and clean—if you’ve stayed in hotels in Europe you it will feel familiar. The lobby and bar / restaurant are gorgeous but the stairs and hallways are a bit worn down. Which can come with the territory in historic hotels so I didn’t really mind. "A beautiful historical property with gorgeous details"

"Very clean. Quiet. Staff was friendly and responsive when we had a problem with television reception. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choices of hot food and cold cereals and breads/bagels/english muffins. Ample free parking. Very convenient to Berkeley restaurants and shopping and to the freeways. Just a mile away is the Marina with walking trails next to the Bay in the park. Beautiful. Only 1/2 hour into SF across the Bay Bridge."

"Come for the location and friendly front desk. Don’t come for the shower (weak, inconsistent temperature), or breakfast coffee efficiency (stood in a queue for 15 mins in lobby to get a cup of coffee). They are redoing the restaurant so maybe some steps in a positive direction, but rooms feel dark and old. Outdated bathrooms. "

"I did have a great stay here with some minor caveats. The early check-in at 2 for $30 is not my favorite. Although my king bed room was truly giant (bigger than a few apartments I've lived in) there were no windows to the outside world (only a small one to the hallway/walkway, right at eye level for anyone outside if my blinds were open.) The sound proofing left a lot to be desired - with laminate floors and a large gap under the door, you can hear even the quietest of sounds. Their bed was...

"Beds were vwry comfortable and pillows. Very clean and courteous staff. We had one issue with the ac but they were on top of fixing it very quickly.8 Breakfast was good and they had alot of options. Property was very safe and security was 24-7 on the streets. Very close to the bart transportation. "

"This was a beautiful hotel! Very clean and well maintained. Every single employee was kind and friendly. Enjoyed relaxing in the quiet lobby. The pub was delicious and room service was excellent. We will definitely stay at your hotel again! "
