We have just finished a COMPLETE and TOTAL renovation... Shiplap. Granite. Stacked stone. Warm fabrics. Fluffy towels. High thread-count sheets and puffy comforters. 4 sleeping spaces, 3 baths. Complete kitchen remodel with new Stainless LG appliances.

Guest access:

Firewood, Hot tub (private), 75 Mbps Wi-Fi, Dish Network with Sports. Articulating 55" Vizio High Def TV , Grill, Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detection. Tons of wide parking. Much More!

Other things to note

Local attractions include Lake Rabun, The Barn at Lake Rabun, Moonrise Distillery, The Lake Rabun Hotel, Minehaha Falls, Wander North Georgia, Tallulah Gorge, Halls Boat House, Lake Seed. Lake Burton, Wineries, The Appalachian Trail, many outdoor music festivals, kayaking, fantastic roads for motorcycles, sports cars and cycling, and much more. 3 minutes from the cool art village of Lakemont. Only 12 minutes from Clayton for great shopping and dining.

We require our quests to be respectful of our amazing community and wonderful neighbors. No "party house" situations allowed, no exceptions. Also, we require the responsible individual, (the renter) to be at least 25 years of age. Thank you for your understanding.

Fabulous home

So much to say. Home was beautiful. View, fabulous, even from the hot tub. The kitchen was well appointed and very nice linens. Plenty of wine glasses, cookware, serving ware, etc. We stayed for our wedding week, got to take fabulous pictures, plenty of room for getting ready. The host was so accomodating. We will definitely be back!!

The Crew

Everything was really beautiful! We were a little confused about the fourth bedroom, not realizing it was a loft with very little privacy. I think describing it better might be helpful. Yet, our friend group is resilient and still had a great time! One of our friends left her jewelry bag and the owners were helpful in helping her recover it. Also, a few more lights in the adorable breakfast nook would help!

Beautiful place

Perfect for a trip to the beautiful mountains in North Georgia! We were in town for a family wedding at Terra Incognita Vineyards and the location worked out great. We were able to spend some time in cute downtown Clayton as well, where there are several nice places to eat and cute shops. Everything was seamless and we would definitely stay at this home again.

Amazing Stay

The property was one of the cleanest and best equipped rentals we’ve stayed in. It had everything we needed for an extremely comfortable and relaxing stay. Very convenient to outdoors activities, shopping, restaurants, and towns which was so nice. The hosts were extremely communicative and welcoming.

Exceptional home

This property is wholeheartedly recommended. The house is beautifully appointed and was perfect for our family. The loft and downstairs allowed everyone to fit perfectly. It’s location is beautiful. We were in town for a wedding and not familiar with the area at all. Sara was so nice to offer her recommendations on golfing, farmers markets, and shopping. Everything she recommended was great. The town of Clayton is a must to visit and just minutes away. The home has everything you need to enjoy your time. One of the nicest VRBO properties I’ve stayed at. If I ever come back to this area I will definitely stay here again!

Cozy, clean and updated

It was a girls weekend in this lovely mountain home for us four ladies (of a certain age). We took lots of time chatting on the porch deck and taking in the Fall beauty of the mountains. We visited nearby Tallulalah Falls. We hiked to the observation decks and toured the interesting museum. We especially enjoyed the thrift shops in Clayton and Hiawassee. Daniel’s Steak House provided a delicious and reasonably priced meal in Hiawassee. The host provided precise directions to the house. The road was a bit steep but quite doable. The suite on the lower level was charming. Highly recommend this home and it’s gracious host, Sarah.

FANTASTIC GETAWAY

We loved this very private property perched with the perfect views from the back porch. The owner has taken great care to make this place perfect and is extremely helpful and communicative. We LOVED everything about our long weekend at Mashburn. The entire home is beautifully decorated, comfortable and cozy. The kitchen is fully equipped, hot tub has an incredible view and the fire pit was so fun even in July. Nothing you will need is more than a 10-12 minute drive (groceries, dining, shopping, tubing, hiking, fishing, boating...) and downtown Clayton is AMAZING! We will be back!

Wonderful Home and Experience

We enjoyed staying at Lakemont. It was in a beautiful, peaceful location within a short drive into Clayton for shopping and restaurants. The home was so well appointed, and the owners have done such an amazing job with the design. We had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. My family really enjoyed spending time in the hot tub, and when temperatures dipped, we had plenty of opportunity to build a fire inside and outside. The owners even delivered firestarters to the house when we inquired. We want to return.

Perfect Mountain Home

My family has enjoyed this home two times now and it is always perfect. Sarah, the host, is so responsive and helpful. The home is perfectly equipped with everything you could need. It is also furnished in a stunning way and feels very luxurious. We will be back again and again!

Fantastic House

Everything about this home was fantastic! It's extremely clean and well organized. Everything has its place. The view off the back porch is really nice. The front porch is really nice and the fire pit conveniently located with plenty of firewood. The beds are really comfortable with nice sheets and comforters. We all slept wonderfully. There is a nice binder with tons of helpful information including simple and specific instructions for how to utilize the 3 remotes to turn on the TV with pictures included. I couldn't broadcast to the TV from my iPhone/iPad, but this is probably because of my own technical challenges rather than the TVs as it is a smart TV and most likely capable. Sarah was very responsive and helpful! We saw a Mommy and baby deer from the back porch one morning and a bobcat while driving up the driveway at night. Would definitely rent from again!!

Great place close to Tallulah Gorge

We were charmed by the decor and the views out the windows! The abundance of firewood was also a great convenience...the fireball is nicer than most. Good seating for all when eating home-cooked meals. You feel very remote but you aren't far from town and touristy things at all. Enjoyed hiking the Gorge and visiting Goats on the Roof lol. :) (Please contact me if you want to stay sometime in the Florida Keys! I have an amazing 3 BR 3BA house there on the water in Marathon!)

Heaven in the Mountains

An absolutely perfect place to stay for myself and a group of girlfriends. Hosts went above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable and it was obvious they poured themselves into every detail on the property. We hope to come back in the future!

Amazing Mountain House

First of all, thanks to the owner, Sarah, for sharing her beautiful home and view with our family and making sure our stay was a memorable one! The home and amenities met all of our needs. Although you have everything you need at the house, It is close to dining, shopping etc. We highly recommend this to anyone wanting to spend time in this beautiful part of Georgia.

A hidden gem of heaven

This house was everything and so much more then you see in the listing. Sarah was an incredible communicator, she went above and beyond to provide top suggestions for restaurants, boat/jacuzzi rentals, activities to do, hikes and her personal touch was so appreciated. She invited us to live music and we had a blast. Her home is incredibly set up, warm, cozy and so modern with a personal touch of artistry. The views are breath taking full of ever changing clouds interplaying with the mountain tops, the animals like bunnies and deer visit often to say hello, the jacuzzi so fun especially on a cool rainy day, the firewood provided for endless nights of admiration and the upstairs bedroom to wake up to a stunning view is nothing short of beautiful. Thank you for such an amazing stay, we loved it so much we're coming back to see the leaf changes in the fall.

Perfect Cabin Getaway

The house was perfectly decorated with comfortable beds and linens. The location was close to town and beautiful hikes. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. Nestled above in coziness!

Mashburn Mountain Lodge is cute as a button, very clean and comfy! "It felt like home!" You can really unwind here nestled at the top of the mountain overlooking Mother Nature's beauty! Sarah was very accommodating, the lodge had everything you could possibly need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan on visiting again some day!

Cozy perfection

We regularly rent houses and this is one of the most nicely decorated and well-stocked rentals I have ever stayed in. Fresh flowers and ample firewood along with other small touches made it feel like you were visiting family. Beautiful renovations and awesome views from the deck. We enjoyed our time at your home!
