Annual Family Lake Gathering
Our family recently spent five nights at this Eden Isle home for our annual summer gathering—a tradition we've upheld for over 60 years. With attendees ranging in age from 8 to 62, the central location in Heber Springs worked well for everyone.The home’s open-concept layout and well-stocked kitchen made meal prep and serving easy for our group. We appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the house, including reliable Wi-Fi (a must for our cousin who needed to work remotely from D.C.), the pool table, and board games that brought everyone together.While rainy weather limited our time on the deck, it still offered a peaceful spot for the early risers each morning. The extra gravel parking was convenient as we came and went from the marina and visited another family home on the island.The basement did have high humidity due to the rain, and the current dehumidifier didn’t quite keep up. We believe two more efficient dehumidifiers would resolve this issue, and it wasn’t a major drawback for our stay.Having two sets of washers and dryers was incredibly helpful with lake and kitchen towels. My husband and I stayed in the primary bedroom, and our 8-year-old slept comfortably on a blow-up mattress in the spacious master closet—close enough for peace of mind, yet tucked away for a quiet rest.All in all, this home was a wonderful place for our multi-generational family to gather.
