Storefront Studio: Your Unique Retreat on Jim Thorpe's East Side

Welcome to the Storefront Studio! This unique 700 sq ft retreat is set in a renovated 1870 Mercantile building storefront. The studio blends historical character including the double display windows, allowing glimpses into the past of this old storefront.

Rest in a premium King size Saavta mattress and a fully equipped kitchen. Unwind and enjoy entertainment on the 43-inch TLC TV with built-in Roku streaming, including Netflix and whole house Wi-Fi access. It's the perfect cozy base for your Jim Thorpe adventure.

Location:

Our East Side location provides a dedicated off-street parking spot right at the building. Downtown is a 2-minute drive (or 1-mile walk) across the bridge. Quick tip: while walk to town is easy (it's all downhill!), many guests prefer the convienience of driving down and parking.

  • This is one of my favorite hiking trails! It consists of 3 big waterfalls as you ascend to the top. Be cautious though you need real hiking boots to hike the trail. It’s extremely slippery because of the waterfalls and we went on a day where it rained so it was even worse. Most people make their way up the side of the waterfalls, which involves a lot of climbing on rocks and using your hands. It gets very crowded so we went up the "flatter" trail most people use to go down, which made for a really good work out, and started from the top waterfall and made our way down. This is not a kid friendly place. The trail is dangerous and difficult. There were warning signs everywhere saying to wear the correct shoes and that people have died here, but there were so many people there with their small children who were having lots of trouble climbing and so many people with flip flops. Also no one here had any hiking etiquette about letting others pass. Regardless, this is one of my favorite trails.

The stay was amazing. The guest house is great location, 1 mile drive from Jim Thorpe. Far enough away to be away from the craziness of downtown, but close enough to walk or drive to. The guest house was a perfect size for a couple. Neatly designed and well kept.Dee was a phenomenal host. She had great communication leading up to and throughout our stay. She went out of her way to provide recommendations of activities to do and restaurants to try. Would recommend to others and likely stay again myself if visiting in the future.

Lovely property just as described with super easy check-in and communication with host. Thoughtful amenities and tips provided were useful. Lots to do for a fall visit so researching ahead, buying Tix or making reservations where you can is advised. We packed a lot in and enjoyed relaxing at the clean and cozy studio after activity filled days! Wonderful experience!

Quaint Cozy

Stayed at this location for my 30th birthday. It's quite local to the historic district of Jim Thorpe and the views of being in a borough were beautiful. I stayed in the Studio Store Front and I loved the layout and retro decor; it was very spacious for a studio. The parking is behind the building for all apartment rentals, therefore, you do have to walk around the block to the Studio Door. The pillows and mattress were comfortable. The only downside is that there is no storage for clothing (if you like closets and dressers), however, there is a coat rack with hangers as compensation. The street you stay on is their most busy street (main street for travel) so it is quite noisy in the morning until evening. Most attractions, outside of Jim Thorpe, were 30-40 minutes away.

Perfect size and location for a few night stay in Jim Thorpe. It is not in the main center of the activity area, but a great one mile, very scenic walk to go back and forth. The unit has everything you need with a few extra amenities from the host. If I ever return to the area again, I’ll make another reservation at this property. Great bang for the buck.

Wonderful Host! Dee provided many suggestions on places to visit and eat. The accommodations are welcoming and comfortable. Quick drive to downtown. Perfect place for a nice weekend away.

The studio was very clean and well equips with all you could need . Very comfortable bed . Three minute drive to downtown Jim Thorpe . Very inexpensive Uber ride . With parking in town a premium . Uber was the way to go. Love that they provide off road parking for the studio. Park it and forget it u til your ready to go home . The host was great at communicating and providing you with all the information you need to enjoy the town. I suggest downloading the app. I would stay again here .

Weekend Getaway

Nice little retreat for a getaway! The place was very clean and we were able to walk to downtown Jim Thorpe. It was a little further than we wanted but still doable. Especially after seeing the trouble with parking during the fall season. It was perfect for us!

Charming and comfortable

This property is on the other side of the river from the downtown area, but is a a short walk (<20 minutes). It's a decent hill, so there is a good cardio workout getting back. The history of the building is well documented and the decor is comfortable, with a good mix of antique and modern pieces.

Magical Midweek Stay

What can I say everything about the place was awesome. Dee was very accommodating for Everything that we needed. The accommodations were fantastic. The king size bed was so comfortable and everything in the place was just spot on love it. We will definitely be going back to see the fall colors.
