Welcome to the Glen Onoko Guesthouse! This charming four-bedroom, one and a half-bathroom townhouse awaits you. Located within a historic mercantile building, which was once a confectionery shop, this guesthouse offers a unique and memorable stay. Situated just 1.1 mile away from the scenic train station, you'll have convenient access to the area's attractions.

Step into the elegance of the past, as the original cast iron radiators and artesian woodwork have been beautifully preserved. Recent renovations have brought modern comforts to the forefront, including new windows, hardwood floors throughout, and freshly painted rooms.

The fully equipped kitchen with stainless appliances and a nearby grocery store makes preparing meals a breeze. Gather in the spacious living room with comfortable seating and enjoy entertainment on the 50-inch UHD Roku Smart TV.

The main living space is located on the second floor, while additional bedrooms and a bathroom are spread across the remaining floor. Each room has been updated with crisp, fresh paint in historic colors, and the tall windows offer delightful street views. The bathroom features a cast iron tub/shower with subway tile walls, new flooring, and a vanity. For your convenience, a washer and dryer are provided.

As our guest, you'll have exclusive access to the primary residence, occupying approximately 1,600 square feet on the top two floors. Additionally, you are welcome to relax in the courtyard with its lush shrubbery border and make use of the BBQ grill. The wrought iron table and chairs provide ample seating for a breezy outdoor retreat. Off-street parking is available in the gravel parking area directly behind the building.

Family Stay for Run

We had a wide range of ages for our short stay. The house was lovely along with the host. The beds were incredibly comfortable and check in and out was easy!

All the comforts of home

Dee was an outstanding host. The home was clean and had everything you could imagine you could ever need and then some. The check-in was easy, lots of welcoming notes made you feel right at home. Close to down town and all the activities. I would definitely recommend.

Girls Weekend

I stayed at the Glen Onoko Guesthouse for a long weekend and it was perfect! The house was so clean and well appointed. We like to cook and the kitchen had everything we could have needed. While we probably could have walked downtown, we drove and Dee provided a tip of where to park for free. Thanks Dee for opening your beautiful home. We hope to come back!

Best host ever

It was a beautiful location, so close to the attractions of Jim Thorpe. Our host Dee was so great, she was quick with communication, and went above and beyond. So sweet we highly recommend this home for a comfortable stay.

A great place to stay in East Jim Thorpe

My wife and I enjoyed a three-night stay, and you enjoyed it a lot. Dee was very friendly and flexible, and our unit came with a notebook full of things to do in the area. She also responded right away when we found a small problem in one of the bathrooms, which was quickly fixed. The unit has four bedrooms, so it was a bit large for us, but we would not hesitate to stay there again, and perhaps bring our grandchildren the next time.

Beautiful Home

Just stayed here for only two days and wish I had made it longer. I have to say the Owners were the absolute BEST. Dee and her husband Mark are always available if needed. Their response is fast and they are very accommodating. I would love to also say how CLEAN the rental is!!! Never have I stayed at a place where I didn't wish I had brought my disinfecting wipes. No need here you will see how clean it is. There is tons of literature in the home for you to view if you are undecided on what to do. Directions are left on how to use the TV, the coffee bar has a choice whether you want to brew a pot of coffee or use a K-cup. syrup for flavoring, and flavored creamers. There are more than enough extra pillows and blankets, a closet full of board games as well as in the table in the living room. There is also a washer and dryer, the bathrooms has plenty of hand soap, body wash, and toilet paper, lol the good kind, the bath towels are nice and fluffy, not the flimsy cheap kind and there was more than enough for the 3 of us. I would definitely recommend staying here. We will be back. Need to spend more time at the beautiful state park nearby. Thank you Dee and Mark!! Anita, Erika, and Julie

3 night stay. Lovely house, thoughtfully furnished and decorated. My own house is 120 yrs old, so it's my style. *Clean! Comfortable. Quiet. In the front bedroom, you hear some morning street traffic. Our kids, 9 and 11, were with us so we made use of Pandora and the board games. Each review varies whether or not you can walk to the town center and how long it takes. Yes, you can walk over the bridge (pedestrian walkway on the left). It took us 20-something minutes each way, not hurrying. I walk double that every day. So if that much walking is inconceivable to you personally, then you might say it's too far. No regrets not staying right in town. It's very pretty and quaint, but little more than the usual touristy shops. Most places to eat are pubs/taverns, but we had a truly excellent meal at Moya, in town. Closer to the house, Union Publick House (also a bar) is a 10 minute walk and the food was very good. Kitchen is well-stocked, but I don't go on vacation to cook/clean. For breakfast nearby, we went to East Mauch Chunk Eatery and Bob's, both good, very friendly. If you google, you won't find many more food choices anyway, either near the house or in the town center. Decent bagel cafe, Perch, a short drive away, too. Dee left us a sample of cookies from 3 Kids Bakery, but they were closed during our stay. FYI, many shops and eateries are closed Tue, Wed. Lehigh Gorge is a short drive away. Many state parks, nature, hiking trails nearby. We enjoyed Beltzville, Hickory Run.

Clean and comfortable stay

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely guesthouse. The property is very clean and just as described. Living room and kitchen are spacious, and the unit is tastefully decorated to feel cozy and welcoming. The guesthouse is located within walking distance of town and a short bike ride to the Glen Onoko access point of the D&L rail trail path. The host was responsive and answered any questions we had. A lovely place to stay!

Perfect !!

I can't say enough good things about this place; it's amazing. It was very clean and there wasn't a thing we needed that wasn't supplied. The beds were beyond comfortable. The house is in a safe environment and we were able to walk into town. The hosts were helpful and friendly. Thanks for a great stay.

Delightful home away from home

We were three adult couples, ranging in age from 25 to 65. We all felt comfortable, safe, and happy in the beautiful apartment, and thoroughly enjoyed our active vacation. Easy distance to good restaurants and diners, as well as white water rafting, hiking, and sightseeing. What a comfort to have such a pleasant home base!

Fantastic Family setup

We LOVED this house. Best supplied kitchen ever! We did most of our meals in the house and never came across something we needed that wasn’t there. Our kids (22 and 23 years old) could wander around historic Jim Thorpe at night and checkout the bars and then walk home. Very close to a great grocery store (Jim Thorpe Market). The unit had great layout, space, and privacy as well as wonderful spacious common areas. Beds were really comfortable and I loved the towels. :) We would love to come back! Liz

Holiday cheer weekend

Would absolutely stay here again if we visit Jim Thorpe. The house is just outside the busy area. Close to everything but would drive during the winter months. The house is super cozy has everything you need for a comfortable stay . Dee the host responds very quickly to any questions and provided plenty of suggestions for restaurants and activities. The Christmas tree was a nice touch. Thanks again Dee for providing such a clean and well appointed property to stay.

Another great stay!

I love this house! It’s big, clean, cozy and has everything you could need or want. Great location. Used it in the summer and had to come back in the fall. This time my friend and I bought the husbands. Such a great place to stay!

The house is very clean and quite large inside for a good size family. For the adventure side of Jim Thorpe its a good location and only a mile or so outside the town center.

Quick stay to see family. April 9 - 11

In Jim Thorpe for a short visit. Can't say enough nice things about the guesthouse, so clean and tidy and well appointed. You can tell the owners take pride in their property. Everything was just lovely. Hope to return soon.

Enjoyable Stay

The property has very spacious rooms, particularly the living room and kitchen. Spotless. We had one issue and the owner was extremely responsive and came over within 5 minutes to fix it. Owner offered helpful suggestions on touring the town and making restaurant recommendations. You do need to use a car to get into the center of town.
