"The Hotel is very dated, but acceptable due to the price. The area rates are quite expensive. It's very handy for me because i visit family close by. The Hotel has a well stocked bar and dining area with a good menu selection. This is the 2nd time i have stopped here and i would stop again. It has ample parking and is next door to the beautiful Devils Punch Bowl ideal for walkers."

"Friendly host, warm and cozy cottage atmosphere out on the country - very private and quiet too. The room was so nicely appointed and we loved the sound of the babbling stream outside. The bathroom was large and bright and had a big bathtub. Everything was so clean and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to order each day. A wonderful spot away from the madding crowds but so close to so many beautiful places. "

"We loved our stay at Rose and Crown! The staff were so friendly. Our room had so much character, and was bigger than we would have expected. It was quite comfortable and surprisingly quiet (we were there midweek on a slightly rainy day). We also ate at the pub and really enjoyed our meal. We would stay again!"

"I expect that no one from Expedia had visited this 'hotel' basically a pub with four rooms. They were tired, decoration poor, carpets grubby, toilet was noisy (Macerator) no breakfast options at all and very expensive, £95 per room!"

"The woman sitting at a tiny table with a laptop got every room mixed up, I ended up in a family room with my sibling, my 2 elderly great aunts were put in a double and my great uncle ended up in a single room which was in the attic, she had no idea and obviously gave the rooms to all the wrong people despite me showing her my booking! The whole place smelt damp and was dirty throughout, the beds were disgusting as was everything else, couldn't wait to get out of that horrible old rundown awful...

"Helpful frendly ,welcoming staff.Large room(althogh a little dark) Sadly, there appeared to be no hot water available in our bathroom on our first morning,(despite running the hot water tap for about 10 minutes),so we were unable to take advantage of the wonderful looking freestanding roll top bath.
