The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. The restaurant and bar next door were very good. The Specials on the menu were special. They had a good range of beers and wine. The staff were all professional, friendly and helpful. It was a lovely place to stay and I'd happily stay there again

Staff were extremely helpful, we had a wobbly toilet seat that the maintenance man was sent to repair as soon as it was reported. Restaurant staff were very obliging, allowing us to move tables to a more airy position.

A fabulous place in which to stay. Bags of historic character with numerous areas in which to lounge, eat and drink- as well as outside. Staff were helpful and very friendly and the dining menu looked amazing (though we didn't eat on this occasion). The bedroom was comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was inventive with smashed avocado, smoked salmon and choice of eggs as well as two versions of a full breakfast. 'Continental' was an alternative. The Old Town of Harlow looked as though it would merit a future visit

We only had the room for one night and did not use the other facilities but the room was clean and well appointed. The check in staff were great and we were given a ground floor room due to some mobility issues

We have been staying with this hotel for 9 years...we will always be patrons. The food is fantastic...parking is great....it's quiet and peaceful. The place is a blast from English heritage..we love ❤️ it.

We only stayed for one night before an early morning flight from Stansted, but we were pleased with our stay. It was good value for money, the bed was comfortable, and we had a good night’s sleep — albeit a short one due to our early flight! The hotel was only around a 15-minute drive from the terminal, which made it really convenient for an early departure. There’s also a large car park at the back, which was really handy. Just be mindful of where you park if you’re leaving your car there, as we came back to find ours had been rather generously decorated by the local birds after parking under a tree! We arrived too late to eat at the pub, but there’s a small shopping centre about a 10-minute walk away with various takeaway options and a Co-op. Overall, we had a comfortable and convenient stay and would stay here again.

Really nice hotel. Room was really hot but it was a heat wave and probably not a problem most of the time. Staff were so friendly and helpful especially in the pub for dinner and breakfast. Easy access to train station and travel in to London. Was a nice place to stay outside of all the business. Easy access to Stansted airport too. Would definitely stay again.

All staff were so friendly and helpful from check-in to staff in the restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble despite the hotel being full. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We had two peaceful nights stay here and would definitely recommend and stay again if we had the need.

Two night stay visiting friends who were staying In Sawbridgeworth. The receptionist Maisie was extremely helpful by arranging a local taxi for our friends - the cost was substantially cheaper than an Uber. The room was very good but no air con, just a fan, and the wifi did drop out from time to time. Breakfast was very good and again staff very pleasant and helpful. We would stay here again in the future

The Green Man is a lovely place to stay, nicely decorated and clean, comfortable rooms. The beer garden is an added gem in the summer months. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Our only complaint was that there were insufficient staff in the bar and restaurant to cope with high demand at the weekend. I however would definitely recommend the Green Man and will look forward to my next stay.
