This cozy, detached wooden house offers 75 square meters of living space and is the perfect getaway for up to 4 people and one pet. Quietly situated in an idyllic wooded area surrounded by conifers in Mardorf, you’re just a few minutes’ walk from Lake Steinhuder Meer. The house offers you a wonderfully peaceful oasis with a relaxing view of the forest.
It’s the ideal base for excursions around the lake, for water sports enthusiasts, cyclists, and families.

The house welcomes you with an open, spacious kitchen-living area that offers plenty of room to relax. Enjoy the view of the sky through the skylights, or on colder days, make yourself comfortable by the crackling fireplace (firewood can be purchased on-site). Alternatively, modern electric heaters provide cozy warmth.

Entertainment is well taken care of: In addition to a selection of books and board games, a smart TV with streaming options is available. Thanks to the modern fiber-optic network, you can enjoy fast Wi-Fi throughout the entire house.

The fully equipped kitchen leaves nothing to be desired. Modern major appliances such as an induction cooktop, an oven, a refrigerator with a freezer, and a dishwasher are available for preparing your meals. Start your day relaxed with a fresh cup of coffee, either from the classic drip coffee maker or the French press. A kettle, toaster, and the full basic set of dishes, pots, pans, and dish towels are, of course, provided.

After an active day in the fresh air, two cozy bedrooms await you. The large bedroom is furnished with a double bed (1.80 x 2.00 m), while the smaller bedroom features a bed measuring 1.80 x 1.90 m. Curtains and classic shutters provide privacy and help block out the light for a restful night’s sleep. To help you travel light, bed linens and towels are provided free of charge. The functional bathroom is equipped with a shower and a toilet.

While the large patio outside invites you to enjoy relaxing evenings, there’s plenty for the kids to do as well. The spacious wooded property features a fully fenced-in garden—perfect for letting your pet roam freely and safely.

On the terrace, you’ll find a large dining table with chairs as well as a cozy lounge area with a sofa that invites you to linger. A modern electric grill is available for family barbecue evenings. Meanwhile, the kids can let off steam on the swing, in the sandbox, or in the playhouse in the garden. An absolute highlight indoors is the private little children’s loft with a play area full of toys. A true nature experience with birds chirping and plenty of open space for young and old alike!

The location is ideal for beachgoers and nature lovers:

Beach & Water: In just a 5-minute walk, you’ll be at the surf beach. You can reach the popular “Weiße Düne” swimming beach after a leisurely 10-minute walk.
Hiking: The beautiful “Moorpfad” trail is just a 2-minute drive or a 25-minute walk away.
Amenities: You’ll find the nearest supermarket and bakery in the center of Mardorf (only about a 4-minute drive away). Additional shopping options are available in the neighboring town of Neustadt am Rübenberge. For a relaxing break, there are several options along the promenade in Mardorf or in Steinhude.

Your arrival is completely flexible and contactless thanks to the key safe. Right next to the house, you’ll find a covered carport and up to three additional parking spaces. Please note that the house does not have its own wallbox for electric cars (charging stations are available in the town of Mardorf).

Infrastructure: For long-distance travel, the Neustadt am Rübenberge train station or the Hanover Airport are convenient options.

A few important rules for a harmonious stay:

* The house is a smoke-free property. Smoking is permitted only outdoors. Due to the property’s location right next to the forest and the associated risk of forest fires, we ask that you dispose of ashes and cigarette butts with the utmost care.
* Pets are welcome for a fee of 30 €.
* To preserve the tranquility of nature, parties and events are not permitted. For this reason, we do not rent to youth groups.

Accessibility Note: Due to the building’s design, the house is unfortunately not wheelchair-accessible, accessible to people with disabilities, or suitable for seniors.

**Important Note Regarding Your Stay:** Our vacation home is situated on an unspoiled forest property where nature sets the pace: pine needles, pinecones, and twigs on the patios and paths, as well as encounters with native forest animals and insects in the outdoor areas, are all part of the authentic nature experience here and do not constitute a defect. In addition, we are currently creating a natural deadwood barrier along the street side, which is still under construction.
