Enjoy and relax in this beautiful home overlooking the ocean. Smell the fresh ocean air as you sit on the deck that runs the whole front of this 4 bedroom chalet. Cook on the grill as the kids play on the front lawn and watch the 2 local eagles fly overhead as the beautiful sunset happens right in front of you. Kayak out into the cove and see if you can catch a glimpse of the seals out for a swim. For nightly entertainment enjoy the Game room downstairs which includes Ping Pong, Air hockey, Darts, Foosball, and a kids pool table, or get a work out in the exercise room complete with Eliptical Machine, Bike, Ab Lounge, Weight Bench, and Free Weights. Plenty of things to do on the property or many things to do nearby. Acadia national park is only 25 minutes away,shopping is 10 minutes away and restaurants are as close as 5 minutes. Everything right at your fingertips in a private setting. Please enjoy!


This home is kid friendly with gates located at the top and bottom of the main stairs and clear banister guards have been installed on the 2nd floor banisters for safety.

The Chalet was an immense family home that was large enough for 7 adults.There were TVs in every bedroom although we enjoyed watching the big screen in the family room.The kitchen was equipped with updated appliances.The cabinets were stocked with plenty of dining ware.The basement was stocked with plenty of indoor games. However, since we were hiking we didn’t partake in any of the equipment.There was firewood left in outdoor fire pit which came in handy. We did buy more wood but didn’t really use it.The bedrooms were furnished with comfy furniture. Bed linens had a cute bear/ cabin themesThe Chalet was in a perfect location. About 15 min from most stores.Overall, I would recommend a large family to rent the Chalet.Improvements: fill up shampoo dispensersDish towels under kitchen sinkA filled up propane, it was empty so we didn’t use itA few more Rubbermaid containers Some plastic wrap/ foil

This should/could have been an exceptional property/experience but it was a major disappointment.The listing is inaccurate...especially for the price we paid. The house is located on a river, not oceanfront. When brought to the owners attention, he said "according to the state of Maine any waterway that has salt content is considered oceanfront."The front door did not lock. The game room in the basement had a collection of not-full-sized assortment of air hockey, pool table etc In disrepair. we arrived after 8 pm and didn't recognize that the bedding was absolutely dirty until the next morning. There were soap dispensers in the showers but they were empty. The owners response was "I didn't say I was providing shampoo". Although the home has heat, there were no extra blankets. It gets cold at night in Maine. The owners communication was usually within hours...until I complained. I respectfully suggested he refund our cleaning charges (especially since I spent the checkout morning washing his sheets). He said "I have 14 days to make an adjustment and I'll think about it"In the end, beautiful location but not oceanfront. Poor to terrible housekeeping (imagine waking up in the morning to blond hair on your pillow when you are bald). Unnecessary disrespect to your guest when a simple resolution was proposed ("at least refund your cleaning fees").

Breathtaking views, spacious living. We booked this place to be on the water and to accommodate our family. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, the gang was all together. The perfect drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor kept us out of the congestion. The big recreation room downstairs and gates on the stairs made it easy with the little ones.

The house was great! It was quiet in a beautiful setting. Very spacious which was great as we had our adult children with our 5 grandkids ages 5 to 10. There were 2 bedrooms on the second floor with a queen bed in a loft in between the 2 bedrooms. One bathroom upstairs. On the ground floor there was a cozy bedroom and a bathroom and then the primary bedroom on the other side of the great room.The back yard was great to run around. The basement was loaded with kid-friendly games...also great for the adults. We spent most of the time in Acadia which was not that close of a drive. But we loved being in the house and sitting on the deck or playing on the lawn! House was very clean. Kitchen was not totally equipped if you want to seriously cook but we had breakfast in the house and we were then out for most of the day. Had 2 dinners in the house and then ate locally in the restaurants. It was a great week!!! Our hosts were very responsive and helpful. The extensive lists of local restaurants was welcome. Thanks so much!

Wonderful! Everything about this property was great! There was plenty of space for our family of 12. The kids enjoyed the large back yard, and the adults enjoyed a game of touch football while overlooking the ocean. The house is very well kept and very clean. There are lots of things to do in the area without traveling far. This is definitely a nice place to enjoy a family vacation!

Family get away in Acadia

Weekend with family with adults and kids. Water access with kayaks, games indoors and fire pit and grill outdoors. Also has a large kitchen and living room the overlooks the bay. Very nice facility

Does not disappoint!

This very-well equipped house is spacious with plenty of space for our three-generation family group. The pictures are accurate and the house is every bit as nice as it looks. The private aspect, overlooking the water was particularly nice. The hosts were quick to respond to queries.

Wow. Beautiful views, plenty of space, super-clean.

This property was a hit with our group. It was conveniently located to visit Acadia National Park while avoiding the crush of Bar Harbor, which can get loud and congested.

We were surprised to find the property, described as “oceanfront” was actually facing the Skillings River and had no view of the ocean. We have stayed at other VRBOs and we found this one to be much more spartan than we expected. There were no usage instructions or information about the area (e.g. food shopping or restaurants). We were unable to lock the sliding glass doors—only one of which had a screen—or turn on the fireplace. The towels were few and very thin. It is a big house and would sleep several guests, but renters need to be ready for a lack of amenities in an isolated setting.

Beautiful Nature; Wonderful Family Togetherness

This house was great for us 7 adult sisters & our 87 year old dad! Lots of room to cook & be together in the kitchen, at the dining table, & in the spacious living room. The 8 of us easily gathered to plan our next day's adventures, including visits to Acadia & Bar Harbor. Lovely to take the kayaks out. Great communication.

Lovely Property!

Great property for families - access to the water was used each day. Plenty of space, kids were very entertained in the basement. The kitchen was well stocked to make all our own meals. Steve was very responsive to my questions. *Of note - reminder that the house does not have AC which we assumed would be fine until the temperature was in the low 80s our entire stay (!). Got a bit uncomfortable, but the fans in the house helped!

On the Water

We loved our time at this home. Good location to explore this part of the coast. The listing states that it's a bit of a drive to Acadia area, so we knew what we were getting and decided the access to the water was worth it. Know that it's impossible to enter the home without tracking in dirt and bits of travel. Not a huge issue, but the check-out guidelines require guests to sweep before they leave. We swept a few times while there for our own comfort, but the last thing you want to do when you are packing to leave is to have to sweep up. Only thing I would recommend to the owner is to update the decor. Right now it"s a mix of styles by room rather than having a cabin, ocean or other vibe. Small thing overall, but it would really help the ambiance.

Dreamy Home with Amazing Views

There were 11 of us in our group and this house had it all! The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and spices and the bathrooms have plenty of towels and rags which was so appreciated! There was more than enough space for all of us to be comfortable at all times. If you have a large enough group that you need to use the upstairs loft bed, I would recommend bringing sleeping masks as there is no door or shade to block out the morning sun as the sunrises. The back yard is so dreamy and provided stunning views every day. We were able to walk down below the shoreline during low tide and do some tidepooling and look for gemstones and wildlife. Each day we saw deer, birds, and little chipmunks in our backyard. If you plan on visiting Acadia National Park, it's more like a 45 minute drive from the house so something to be aware of for timing purposes. The home looks exactly like the pictures and having gates on the stairs was such a thoughtful gesture to ensure no one gets hurt. Finally, the owners were so communicative and accommodating. They were checking in on us for our flight and arrival, ensured lights were on when we arrived, and even brought us refills of propane. You can tell they really care about their renters and go above and beyond! Thank you for providing our family with a beautiful home to make some wonderful memories in!

Absolutely a Beautiful Home on the Oceanfront

WOW!!! The house was just perfect for our long weekend get-a-way in Maine. The house was well equipped, spotless when we arrived, kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals, the beds were comfy, strong wi-fi, amazing views, and the owner, Shawn, was friendly, available for questions, and even delivered fresh lobsters, right off the boat, to the house. The house is perfectly located for trips to Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, Tidal Bay, Ellsworth, and phenomenal restaurants where you can eat all the lobster, crabs, scallops, and oysters you want. We look forward to returning to the host on our next trip to Maine.
