"After a long motorbike trip from Plymouth to Harrogate my husband stayed here for a night half way he said it was an absolute gem and loved his room and bathroom. The pub was welcoming and friendly and had a food truck too. "

"We had a very pleasant stay at the Hadley Bowling Green Inn - a great welcome, good dinner and breakfast, quiet room. We were surprised at how full the restaurant was on a Tuesday evening for a country pub which isn't even in a hamlet! They must be doing something right."

"Ate in the bar area. Excellent food and knowledgeable about gluten free requirements. Room was well decorated and some nice finishing touches. My only criticism was that the shower should be updated"

"This property is exceptional, beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, safe room, water provided every day, lovely staff, great food, we had beautiful breakfasts every morning of our 4 nights stay & dined in the restaurant 1 night, we had a room with a lovely view of the Severn, my only gripe is that the rooms are very warm, a fan was provided which helped a bit. "

"We had a beautiful stay the night before a family reunion the next day, during which we enjoyed a delicious meal and were accommodated perfectly. Gratitude to the staff who seated us at a large round table which was perfect for us to exchange our many memories and celebrate our grandparents who celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary there back in 1973 and the bride and groom who held their reception there in 1971! We were even escorted to the original steps where all the group pictures were...

"I stayed in the King John room. Had a double poster bed and a lovely bathroom. The pub has loads of character and the room was very comfortable. A picnic hamper for breakfast was lovely."

"The rooms are basic but for short stays ideal and for the price a bargain, (from a woman’s point of view they could do with a shelf other than the one beside the bed to put toiletries on in the bedroom and one in the shower cubicle) The rooms are clean and have tv, safe and tea/coffee making facilities. "Lovely hosts - friendly and helpful. Bright, airy and very clean. Comfy bed. Loved the flapjack in the fridge! It was a very hot petiod in July - so did need fan on all night - and they had thought to have it on before we arrived. Parking space was a real bonus! "
