Pet friendly, 2 Bedroom Detached Chalet near Norfolk Broads

Cosy and clean two bedroom chalet, a 7 minute walk from the Norfolk coast with sandy beach. Perfectly positioned on the California Sands Estate to maintain a sense of rural solitude. Free onsite parking to the rear of the property.

We are happy to accept well-behaved dogs for an additional fee of £30, however they must be kept on a leash on site at all times. Click on 'Guests' and change 'Pets' from No to Yes prior to checkout.

Wifi can be found inside the arcade and Club Oasis, roughly a 3 minute walk away.
Free onsite parking.
Electricity is free, so no need to worry about £1 coins for electricity meter.
Clean bed linen and towels provided at no extra charge.

Chalet is a short walk from site facilities which include: Family clubhouse ‘Club Oasis‘ with evening entertainment, licensed club providing live music, cabaret, family entertainment, children’s entertainment, children’s bar, beer garden and pool table (There is also wifi.) (Payment is required to enter during school holidays). Nearby indoor heated communal swimming pool (Open daily April until end of October 2025, regulation permitting). Amusements arcade, Minimarket, Dutchy’s Tavern, The Pit Stop late night takeaway Pizza Bar, Fish and Chip shop, Café, Big Fella’s Restaurant, and Launderette. There is a bus stop at the site entrance with frequent public transport links to the nearby seaside town of Great Yarmouth or Norfolk Broads. For photos and more information:

LIVING AREA
Contains sofa, flatscreen TV, DVD player, electric heater, and dining area with table and seating for four people.

KITCHEN
Well fitted with fridge / freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, 4-plate electric stove and oven & grill. There is plenty of cutlery and appropriate utensils. Equipped with fire extinguisher and smoke alarm.

BEDROOM 1
The main bedroom has a double bed with linen provided, wardrobe with drawers, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet, and large mirror.

BEDROOM 2
The second bedroom contains a bunkbed with linen provided and two large drawers beneath bunkbed.

BATHROOM
A shower room with WC & Basin. Towels provided.

OUTDOORS
Large grassed area with commanding views and outside seating.

Suitability: children welcome, pets welcome, non-smoking only (you are free to smoke outside the chalet), wheelchair inaccessible. Unfortunately we cannot accept bookings from parties of all male or all female young people, as this is a site rule.

*We cannot guarantee the open or closing times of any on-site facilities. Please be aware that Wifi is available in the Club Oasis and not inside the chalet itself.

If your looking for an affordable place to stay that has everything you need & very clean, i recommend this chalet. Yes its basic accommodation but it was ideal for a small family who are out all day investigating the lovely area & just want a place to crash.

Lovely chalet

The chalet is compact but really nice.Very comfortable and nicely furnished. Spotlessly clean too.Nice quiet site and a short walk to the beach. Not many places to eat especially if you have a dog but overall an enjoyable stay.

Short summer break

This is exactly what is says! A small chalet with all that you need. Not luxurious but it doesn’t pretend to be. Excellent value. Only criticism is the double bed is uncomfortable, springs have gone maybe?

Very Spartan

Outside looked okay and parking was fine. However the living room area had not been hoovered properly and I had to hoover with the available vacuum. The shower tray had not been cleaned. It did not smell of a pet property.. the one heater was not enough to keep us warm with the bad weather.and the heater was not suitable to move to the sleeping areas. Hence it was very cold at night and had to use bedding from the bunk beds to keep warm. I did contact the owner but got no response. We like the location but we had to leave early because of the coldness of the nights and lack of extra bedding

California sands chalet

Stayed for 7 days this time as so lovely last time. Very clean chalet with everything you need for self catering holiday. Me my partner and our dog enjoyed some amazing walks along the beach. Looking forward to booking again for next year.

Great to revisit cali sands after a few years! Always feel safe and comfortable on site, people are friendly, accommodation is perfect and good centrally for walking to the beach. The rental of this property was straightforward, from booking to check out with everything there to make it feel like home.

Enjoyable stay

Stayed here several times, it’s a lovely little chalet but unfortunately we’ve outgrown it now, being pregnant this time around I couldn’t sleep well due to the double bed being so uncomfortable which I mentioned in my review last year too. The location is perfect and the on site facilities are always great, easy bus routes into Yarmouth and hemsby. Chet had all its home comforts just feel it needs updating, the double bed, the sofas and the box of children’s toys could all do with being renewed. Still very much enjoyed our stay.

Great location

We had a 3 night stay in this lovely chalet which is in a great location. Just 5-10 minute walk to the beach where there is a pub serving food. The Sunday carvery is fantastic. The chalet has everything you need and communication with the owner is very good and informative. I will definitely stay again.

Nice but small

Stayed in other 2 bed chalets previously on same site and this one is smaller. Shower room is tiny, sink is minute, kitchen has a decent fridge freeze but little cupboard or worktop space a family with young children would struggle here. Chalet was clean and electricity is included, phone signal poor and no wifi. More information about the facilities on site would be nice. Sun is on front in the morning, need to move further forward on to the green to get evening sun. There is a wooden bench at the front of the chalet but no lighter garden chairs that would be easy to move. The green out the front is pretty enclosed so good for small children to play on. Directions are a bit confusing, When you turn into California road, take first left into California Sands chalet park, park in first car park on right, chalet backs on to car park.

Basic but good

Getting negatives out of the way: Smell of damp on arrival, disappeared after heater on and then windows opened. Not enough heaters to keep my 88 yr old wife warm. No bedside light, and we like to read in bed. She complained of not enough shelves in kitchen, but we were on holiday and eating out more so not too big a problem. Lighting was inadequate, esp for old, failing eyesight. Plus points, easy to find, no steps or trip hazards, clean and comfortable furniture. Everything worked as it should. Television at a proper height to be seen (avoid temptation to put it up on a wall and create neck ache). The chalet was simple, unpretentious and good value.

Lovely little get away

Nice chalet for a last minute weekend away at the coast. Clean and well equipped and stuff on site to keep you entertained. Good location for a short walk to the coast or the chippy, overall a nice stay. Thanks 😊
