Rental agreement is required with ID verification.
Pet Policy: This property is pet-friendly by approval only. A maximum of 2 pets are permitted with payment of a $100 pet fee per stay. All pets must be disclosed and approved prior to arrival. Pets must be house-trained and properly supervised at all times. Pets may not be left unattended inside the property unless securely crated. Pets are not permitted on furniture or bedding. Guests are fully responsible for any damages, additional cleaning, pest treatment, or violations resulting from pets.

This is a definite repeat rental! We will 100% stay here again when in the area. It was meticulously clean and organized. The decor was darling and we had everything we needed for our 3 night rental. The house is much bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside and we had plenty of room. Our host was super responsive to questions and it made for a very easy stay. A top rental in our book!

My family enjoyed our stay at Lakeshore Cottage. The location is great, access to the water is convenient, the house was well stocked with any amenity, cookware, or kitchen appliance. We did encounter a few small hiccups to which the host was responsive to our needs within minutes and solutions were provided within hours. We definitely would consider this place as our vacation destination again.

Fun family stay

This little French Country lake house was the perfect place for me, my husband, 4 kiddos and pup. Clean, comfortable and well stocked for our needs. The property manager was quick to address any needs we had. We will definitely be coming back next year.

Family Vacation

We had a family vacation with our 4-college aged kids. The lake is beautiful and clean. We rented a boat and Lily Pad from Big Worm's -- super easy and affordable. The weather didn't always cooperate with our boating & fishing plans, but we played games in the sunroom and enjoyed the fantastic views. The area was very quiet and so peaceful. Great communication and we found everything as described.

Cozy Cottage

We loved this lake house that has a cottage feel. So cozy and decorated so cute! Loved that all 3 bedrooms have a king size bed! And the daybed and lower level with a little couch amd tv area work perfectly for kiddos! The view was amazing!!! Rented a boat and were able to dock it right up to the house each evening. The lake is clean and so calm. Great boating experience too! Close to Marion, Carbondale, and Shawnee National Forest. Also so close to the Shawnee wine trail. Lots to do!

Charming

Had a family wedding over Memorial Day so decided to rent a lake Egypt house for 4 days. Property is clean and updated. Property description was accurate. Bathrooms are small and shower pressure is a little low, but everything worked and beds were super comfortable. Every property on this lake is small windy road ln the last mile, and every property is a long stairway down to lake. No hesitation to stay here again. Any communication by me to rental company was responded to in like 10 mins or less. Rental Company is on the ball!

Lovely view of Lake Egypt

For the most part the space was clean and tidy and well equipped with soap, spices, shampoo and other essentials like paper towels and laundry detergent. Unfortunately the screened in porch windows, deck and outside spaces were in need of a good spring cleaning.

Winter on the Lake

Very nicely decorated. Appreciated layout providing upstair bedrooms for adults with sleeping arrangements for teenagers on the lower level with their own bathroom, TV, & sofa. Wasn't able to enjoy the outdoors due to weather, but enjoyed great window views of the lake.

Perfect

We booked this location for a 70th birthday celebration. It was perfect for our needs- well appointed and spacious enough for 3 adult couples and a teen. We prepared two meals at the cottage and found the kitchen to be stocked with all the appliances, dishes and utensils we needed. The view of the lake was beautiful. It was especially hot the weekend we visited- all three generations were grateful for the exceptional air conditioning unit. We will definitely consider booking this property again when we return to the area.

Updated and cozy lake house

The home has a clean, modern feel with farmhouse chic comfy. Lots of little touches throughout the home and plenty of space to spread out in bedrooms and living areas. The screened in porch leads to a large deck overlooking the lake. The dock is easily accessible with well maintained stairs. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Long weekend near SIU

Nicest house in the area, nicely decorated and perfect for families. We lucked out with almost 90 degree weather so we grilled and swam. Great communication from start to finish. Great alternative to Marion or Carbondale. We’ll be back!

Perfect little getaway

Our first impression was a bit rocky but the property manager jumped in and helped get everything straightened out right away. Such a beautiful lakefront home. Having the boat available to rent is a huge perk! Great sightseeing within 30 minutes of the house.

Comfortable and Wonderful Property

I found this cottage to be nothing short of pure comfort and delight. You are welcomed in a foyer stocked with beautiful dishes, wine glasses and a coffee bar. The kitchen was very well stocked. All 3 King size beds were very comfortable. You can enjoy the outdoors in the screened in area or the deck. I will definitely stay here again.

Great lake location

This is a beautiful house. Well cleaned. Nice lake access. We are swimmers and had great swims each day. We enjoyed the inflatable water toys available including a kayak. There is a noisy but friendly neighbor.

Just What We Needed

My family and I had the best time at this beautiful home tucked in along Lake of Egypt. (Kids ages 15, 11, and 10) Check-in was easy. We unloaded everything and I headed back out for grocery pick up in Marion. It was only a 20-25 minute drive back to town. We loved the easy access to the lake right off the dock. The swim mat was gone when we arrived, but the owner saved the day for the kids by purchasing a new one and delivering it to the house. The shed also contained other floats for adults and kids. I loved that the water was deep off the dock! We rented the pontoon boat one day, which was fun. For lunch, we ate at Egyptian Hills resort. They had pizza, salads, and shakes. It was great not to have to pack all the food on the boat. My favorite time of day was sunrise! There’s nothing like quiet time, sunrise, a book, a cup of coffee, and that lake view! My family and I would hands down stay here again. We already miss it!

Long Weekend Getaway

Property was very well maintained and very clean with Beautiful lake views and access. We had everything we needed for our long weekend stay. The weather was looking sketchy and this property had everything we needed, screened in porch, games, separate spaces to watch TV, little nooks to read. It was perfect! And the weather turned out to be better than expected so we did use the entire property! We will be back!!!
