Lovely old hotel with beautiful rooms in a pretty area. Good cooked breakfasts but limited continental choice. Our room wasn't serviced despite asking twice for this to happen. Maybe staff shortage? Service needs a little more atrention to detail and more management supervision e.g. no orange juice avaliable one morning as it wasn't refilled, given a broken coffee cafetiere on both mornings, as the room wasn't serviced we had an unmade bed, full litter bins and had to ask for milk etc to.be replenised. Unwashed cups and the bottled water we asked for never appeared. At close on £200 a night and a 4 star rating I would have expected better. Would I stay there again? Yes I would as it is a lovely hotel but I would have been expecting compensation for tge shortcomings. Hopefully this wouldn't be an issue a second time
