"It was a very average room( fair sized ) on top floor overlooking the bins etc at the back of the hotel. Regret no plugs or phone charger socket near bed . Bedding ok and heating fine . Old bathroom with paint coming off bottom of the doorframe. Expensive and did not include breakfast . Wouldnt stay again ."

"Checked in ok, but found room had no hot water or heating, which staff knew there had been an issue but had not informed us. Other rooms were not available. Staff offered to find alternative, but did not. Can’t comment on the comfort of the bed or the power of the shower as we left. WiFi signal was poor in the room and at the front desk, On a plus they left caramel wafers with the tea and coffee but we didn’t get to have tea either."

"We enjoyed use of kitchen /dining space, which included tea, coffee, and proper dishes and utensils. We could store extra food in the refrigerator. The warming closet to hang up wet clothes was amazing. Bed was very comfortable. View of lake was lovely. Host was attentive. Great stepping off point for hiking."

They were all so friendly and eager to help. A special shout out to Ben at the cafe. He took such good care of us and he is a standout member of the team."

"It’s a beautiful place to stay. Since you’re outside the main building, you feel a bit removed from the atmosphere of the house, but overall it was very nice. We noticed that the staff was very structured — friendly, but stressed, and very much focused on “following the rules.” In our opinion, this should be a place to truly relax… and we didn’t really feel that. We also didn’t like that after 11 p.m. there is no one left in the main house. If you’re having a drink, the staff disappears and...

"The location was great for walking the area--shopping and restaurants all around the corner. The room itself was ok-good enough for our one night stay. Couldn't get the heat to work and the shower didn't have much pressure. Hair dryer didn't work. overall thought is was pricey for what it was."
