    The River House was built in 1948 and offers three bedrooms and two newly remodeled baths with all modern amenities. The house has been meticulously maintained. The style of the home Mid-Century meets 1960s chic. The chef's kitchen is newly remodeled and highly functional. This is pristine riverside living at its best.

    The sights and sounds of the beautiful Smith River are at your doorstep. There are many hiking trails close by on the middle and north forks of the river as well as the virgin Redwood forests of Jedidiah Smith State Park after whom both the park and river were named.

    The River House is a great place to unwind. It is a retreat from the rigors of everyday life and a rare opportunity to take stock of nature’s pristine abundance.

    The house is available for your enjoyment year around. Whether you enjoy hiking, fishing, rafting or simply relaxing to the sound of one of American’s most beautiful rivers. You will find peace here.

What a little slice of Heaven. The house has a cozy, mid century vibe. I loved hearing the river run out back. So good for the soul.

We adored our stay at this amazing home. It is conveniently located to the Northern Redwoods State Park area and Jedediah Smith Park and it sits on the cleanest river in the lower US. However, you must know you cannot access the river from the house, but access is close by. The house itself is decorated very nicely in mid century modern style with very comfortable furniture and mattresses. The kitchen is INCREDIBLY well stocked with a beautiful Italian gas range and every gadget and you could ever need. We hope to make it back again!

Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. This home has so much character and is very well appointed. The patio overlooking the river is spectacular. We loved everything about it.

Place was nice and had everything there to use. We had a great stay, all though we weren't there during the daytime cause we were fishing Great fishing by the way! We did notice long hairs on the toilet seat that when we came back and felt like someone was there while we were gone. (weird...) besides that great place.

The house was a great location near the Redwoods and we enjoyed the peacefulness of the river behind it as well as the firepit on the back patio area. We didn't realize that the third twin bedroom didn't have a closet, but our friends made do with the chest and their suitcases. The kitchen was well appointed; we figured out the oven but was never able to get the dishwasher to work for us. We left a note about the smoke alarm battery going out; we removed it to turn off the beeping and left the battery on the chest in the river view bedroom. After a thorough search we never located the Dvd player but it didn't matter as our days were full and we were too tired to watch our dvds. We all feel it was a special and serence place to unwind and recoup after each days' excursions!

Bit difficult getting in as there was no gate code numbers on our check in information . Tried 4 times to get him.after we were settling in he called my husbands number.Once we crawled under the gate and got inside I found the gate code in information book so we get our vehicle in. . the owner suggested I take over his vrbo website.... then he told us to watch the white carpet because his wife would get mad. The carpet was heavily stained ... otherwise a lovely place and we enjoyed the place and the location.

Awesome getaway!

This property was amazing and our family had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the sound of the river behind the house. The house was fully equipped with everything you could need and the beds were so comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
